One of the best things about any Disney movie is the sidekick. Often, we love the sidekicks even more than the main characters, and we certainly have a better track record at remembering their names (Frozen’s Olaf, anyone?).

Here are some of our favorite Disney sidekicks.

Dory - Finding Nemo

Dory is easily in our top five when we’re picking favorite sidekicks. Her lack of a short-term memory is equally heartbreaking and hysterical, and when you get down to it, she genuinely cares about helping Marlin find his son. Plus, thanks to Dory, whenever we’re faced with a situation we’re sure we can’t handle, we’ll always remember to “just keep swimming.”

Maximus - Tangled

Maximus has that unique ability to be flat-out hilarious without ever saying a single word. If you’ve never seen 2012’s Tangled Ever After, and you’re a fan of Maximus, then you should definitely add it to your watch list. Tangled Ever After puts Maximus and Pascal center stage as they find themselves in several tricky situations that are laugh-out-loud funny, all of which take place during Rapunzel and Flynn’s wedding.

Mushu - Mulan

Mushu is one of the most quotable sidekicks in the Disney universe (“Dra-GON!”), and what he lacks in size he makes up for in attitude. Mushu is proof that just because you’re small, that doesn’t mean that you can’t also be a huge help to someone else.

Timon & Pumbaa - The Lion King

Pumbaa is the very definition of “hakuna matata,” or “no worries,” while Timon is actually kind of a Nervous Nelly. What makes these two so admirable is that they accompany Simba all the way back to the Pride Lands, and when they see what a mess the Lands have become, they still agree to support him in his desire to fight Scar to reclaim his kingdom. These two are the very definition of good friends. And who doesn’t enjoy a good gas joke?

Cogsworth & Lumiere - Beauty and the Beast

It’s hard to pick a favorite from this duo. Lumiere is enjoyable because of his similarity to Pepe le Pew from Looney Tunes - he’s French, he’s flirty, and he’s always up for a good dinner party. Cogsworth tries to keep Lumiere in line, and while Cogsworth can be a bit stuffy at times, his good heart makes him lovable.

Heimlich - A Bug’s Life

Flik had so many sidekicks in A Bug’s Life that it’s hard to pick just one. Though, Heimlich is one of our favorites because the only things he cared about were getting something good to eat and, of course, helping Flik. He got the greatest joy out of the littlest things, and it’s simply adorable when he becomes a butterfly and gets those tiny wings. How anyone not feel happy themselves just by watching how happy he is?

Dug - Up

Dug is the perfect example of what would happen if someone made it possible for your dog to talk and you could find out what he was thinking. He’s loyal, sweet, and incredibly simple-minded (“Squirrel!”), which helps him win your heart rather easily.

Wilbur - The Rescuers Down Under

This article was written by Fanpop guest contributor Kailyn T.

When Wilbur the albatross first meets Bernard and Bianca, he’s rather cranky about their insistence that he fly in a snowstorm. But, when Bianca informs him that she and Bernard are desperately trying to save little boy Cody from the evil poacher’s clutches, he quickly changes his tune and is more than willing to help them in their mission.

Sebastian - The Little Mermaid

Many of us who grew up watching Sebastian consider him to be the first sidekick we ever really knew, and he was a great one at that. Sebastian could be the angel on Eric’s shoulder (telling him when the moment was right to “Kiss the Girl”), or the life of the party which, of course, took place “Under the Sea.”

Ch. 12- Fenced In

Lady and Tramp left the park, and passing through the maze of garbage cans and trees, they eventually found Pongo and Perdita.
“Oh, it’s good to see you back,” Perdita told Lady politely.
Lady nodded sadly. “We do need to find the children… and I want to see my Jim Dear and Darling again… and the baby… what will he do without me at home? I… I…”
“Aww, easy, Pidge, they’ll do all right,” Tramp stated gently.
“Do you know of any places where they might be?” Pongo asked.
    “Hmm…...

Disney has been around for along time and everyone's grandparents have probaly watched it.I remeber watching when I was younger, watching all these old old shows that are never on anymore. The classical disney shows are the best, mickey and mini, and all the rest and everything. Disney is a child favorite, but not only do little kids watch it, grandparents watch it, parent, older brothers or sisters, cousins, friends, teachers, everyone does.Even teenagers have watched it at 16 and under even older than 16. Disney is a home favorite. No one can ever forget Mickey mouse. Walt Disney died remebering...

These are the characters who didn't make to the ending of the stories. All Bad Things had to come to an end. Shan Yu's death is a way the writers found to don't put another death by falling.
Some adaptations from the movies in other medias change some Disney Villains fates, a example is The Great Mouse Detective's adaptation for comic books, where a distressed Ratigan survives from the fall and give up trying to kill Basil; And in a licensed Slide-o-rama adaptation of Robin Hood, where Prince John, Sir Hiss and the Sheriff of Nottingham are burned down with the castle and the frame says "And they were never seen again".

As you can see by my profile picture, you already know that I am a fan of her. There are a lot of people that are indifferent towards her for many reasons, and I feel that I have the right to defend the reasons, as MANY have done relentless, continuous defense rants on Ariel, Belle, Merida, Rapunzel, etc.

Like I have said, there are many reasons why people dislike her and think she is so much worse than the other heroines, and the 3 biggest reasons why this is, is because:
1. She is a damsel who does not do anything and is selfish
2. She is a slut
3. She chose Phoebus over Quasimodo
