For one there's Cinderella. Cinderella was a kind girl who never did anything but help people and she became a princess. Lady Tremaine abused Cinderella and look at her now.

I don't consider it magical; to me it is more of a spiritual thing, because in the end, the actions you take affect you someway, pretty much the "ripple effect". Even though people might get away with stuff on Earth, I don't think they can ever get away with something in the afterlife (or Heaven, whatever you prefer to call it).
