Since the story is about Ariel definitely not.The original story is way too beautiful and sad for a Disney movie. Most people wouldn't even understand it imo.

Definitely not. As much as I adore the original tale, I am glad that Ariel got her happy ending. She deserved it.

I like the original story but the ending is too sad I wouldn't have liked it if she died at the end I'm glad she got her happy ending
