Why not? I don't see something wrong with remaking them, and also those remakes are great :)

i agree with disney focusing on their lesser known stuff instead of trying (and failing) to recapture the magic of the classics - seriously, i'd pay good money to see a live-action atlantis

Yeah but more often than not remakes are done to the super successful movies instead of the ones that weren't big hits that could use some improvement here and there (Another take at the Horned king would be awesome, and I'd love to see Treasure Planet).

If they're doing Moana though they better do it now and get Aulii and the Rock while they can. The two of them add a lot to their characters like Robin Williams to Genie.

Three years ago, I would've said no. But Cinderella (2015) was a masterpiece. Beauty and the Beast (2017) looks even better than Cinderella. I'd say go for it, as long as they're good.

After BATB I just don't see what other remake can work. I'm definitely not interested in the Sword in the Stone as a gritty fantasy, or the Lion King in a weird hyper realistic CGI, or this weird Dumbo Burton nonsense...
