No, to me she's not. When everyone thinks of a princess they think of a princess- it's her. She was the first rags to riches princess which made history. No really...look at my article about the first Cinderella story before the Brother Grimm's. It's just the Brother Grimms story that gone worldwide and new versions came. She's actually pretty important, and because of her being the first (probably) she's considered generic.

*See's Cinderella's leading* ... *Eye twitch* No let's forget about her bright blue eyes, strawberry blonde curls, pretty lips and serene smile shall we. *Eye twitches again* Belle has brown hair, hazel eyes, glossy pink lips and a perfectly normal looking face. Yes, I've admitted that Cinderella looks pretty generic. But Belle's an even worse example. She falls right into "Relatable Girl Syndrome," and her face is one I see a dozen times a day just walking down the street. Yes, she's pretty. but her appearance is so common. Cinderella's features are what's common, not the bigger picture. Unlike Belle. *Sorry if I offended anyone*

That's fine Jessikaroo, but when you meant generic...do you mean the most common princess that called out when a doctor asks me what comes into my mind first? ...I think I misread it :O

I wouldn't call her plain looking. She does have some features that stand out on her, like her eyes and beautiful smile for example, which I love.. But she does look very normal looking compared to the others. Which I have nothing against.

Generic-looking, like they're pretty but it bores you. A lot may disagree with my choice and you definitely can. But I'm not an Ariel hater!!! She just has huge eyes and fiery red hair, it's kind of plain in my opinion. Kind of like Rapunzel, only I don't know. I guess Rapunzel is a bit more different-looking to me.

Cinderella and Belle aren't generic looking! Cinderella looks like an All American classic 1950's beauty and Belle is just gorgeous! I honestly don't think any of then look plain!

When I think princess, completely unassociated with DP, I immediately picture a tall, thin girl with long golden locks and blue eyes, very similar to Aurora

BelleAnastasia picked Mulan:
Belle has common features. However, I think it's a bit biased of people to not mention at all the other princesses, who also have common features (like Mulan, Tiana).

I'm not saying she is not pretty but her appearence is nowhere near special or rememberal, in addition to that she is the most badly and flatly drawn Disney princess which is quite upsetting considering that her movie in general has a stunning animation. Even Bimbettes look far more attractive and detailed in terms of animation than her.

Straggy picked Belle:
Belle is French. In France, pretty much EVERYONE is brunette. Go to France and try to find a blonde person; it's very unlikely you'll find many, let alone anyone naturally blonde. They don't even have dirty blondes in France - you're mostly either blonde or you're not. The fact that Belle is brunette and every other woman we see is blonde is very inaccurate and it just makes her plain when everyone is brunette and she's meant to be an unusual beauty.

She doesn't need to be different looking. I'm asking your opinion obviously, when someone who's always considered pretty by people but you find boring. Maybe there are less blondes but they are considered pretty all the time and it bores you. But hair colour should have little to do.

The colouring aside, she fits exactly the Disney house style...also Belle, Tiana and to a lesser degree Mulan.

@Straggy I don't think that Belle is suppose to be unusual colored. The idea of her character is that she is a beauty because she has character.
And what you wrote about France is nonsense. It depends very much on where you are. The further north, the bigger the chance that you encounter blondes.
