While it hasn't been confirmed, various clues have pointed to Moana eventually joining the Disney Princess lineup. This process only involved 20+ users, which I think is a good thing, we'll save the BIG survey for after Moana's official coronation. That's why I didn't ask for comments or use fancy pics. Since the pool of users is so small, I wouldn't say these results are absolute and concrete. This is just a small preview of where Moana as well as the other princesses stand.

To the surprise of literally no one, Merida is dead last. Often criticized by DP fans and praised by DP critics for being the "anti-princess", it makes sense that most DP fans don't like her and some even feel like she doesn't belong in the lineup. The few fans who do like Merida adore her rough and tumble personality and how hard she works at fixing her own mistakes. However, most people can't look past how she commits such a cruel heinous action (poisoning her mother) and they just find her selfish and all round irritating. By the way, NO ONE listed her as their favorite or even second favorite princess.

Its feels almost symbolic that Pocahontas and Moana, both the films and the characters, were consistently neck and neck as I was adding up the results. Funnily enough, unlike Moana, Pocahontas is low or last on a quite a few people's list but she's first on a lot of lists as well. Anyway, Rapunzel has quite a few detractors who find her annoying, almost too perfect and cookie cutter but she has even more fans who love her bubbly personality and how she overcomes deep psychological abuse. There probably is a bit of nostalgia bias against the newer princesses, but it seems Punz is pretty much immune to it.
