Does anyone know .....?

Many many years ago I saw a disney cartoon at my friend's house ..... it was about a mermaid princess who lives under the ocean , her dad rules the huge oceanic kingdom and there are so many different characters in it......her dad ,A king holds a TRIDENT.....that's all i remember, now my question is what was the name of this cartoon??? .....i saw only one episode in mid 90s.
