Mulan is similar to Joan of Arc

One Joan did what she did because Angels had been speaking to her since she was 2.Mulan went to war for her father.

Two Joan did not pretend to be a boy, but did wear masculine clothes to deter men from raping her.Mulan pretended to be male.

Three Joan was burned at the stake for heresy when she was 19.Mulan went on to serve the Emperor.

Four Joan later became a martyr.

and um I don't see how they could look alike...Mulan is Asian and Joan is French, that is a bad painting of Joan anyway.

Kind of her face resembles to Joan of Arc.but Mulan is cute nd beautiful than her.isn't she?

Their endings in the war- yes. But not really. I've always seen it and have been fascinated by Joan but did not pay attention to the similar facts. Everybody realized that Joan should lead them in the war, and she succeeded.

Same with MULAN. So you can't really say they are not similar.

I think there are a lot of differences and similarities.
Both went to war, one for China, one for France. But Joan's ending is sad, while Mulan's is happy.
And there is one thing I'm not sure - in one book Joan did the same as Mulan - pretend to be a male, but in other she did not.
