Disney Princess Question

What would you exactly consider exotic?

I honestly think that just because someone is not black or white, they are exotic. I also think that black and white people can be exotic too. It's ignorant too say that someone is or isn't exotic just by their race. If you call "ethnic" exotic, then you're referring to non American. Belle is French, would that make her exotic? (No. She's more of a classic beauty.) I've seen plain people of all races and exotic people of all races. Also exotic does not equal attractive. Exotic just means you have unique, unusual features or maybe even if its just hard to determine your ethnicity (if you look very unique). The reason I'm saying this is because it really bugs me when people blindly call Hispanics "exotic". I'm Hispanic and I've seen many plain Hispanics. Also a lot of Hispanics are American. Sure there are exotic looking Hispanics like Selma Hayek, Penelope Cruz, and William Levy, but there are Classic, Elegant, etc looking Hispanics too. Luckily I've been never called exotic because I'm not! I think Jasmine is exotic not just because she's Arab, but because the shape of her eyes, thick eyebrows, and hair are exotic features. Some black people that I think are exotic are Tyson Beckford and Kat Graham. Some white people I think are exotic are Nathan Sykes and Emily Browning.

They don't mean non-american, they just mean something more different. Like in the original Cinderella story. Cinderella was Greek, and the women were all Egyptian. When they meant Cinderella was exotic, she just looked so different and unique- yet HIGHLY gorgeous.

Exactly. Believe me, there's many Arab women out there who look plain and don't have anything unusually beautiful about them, but if they do then it's considered exotic. I don't see the big debate here, it's just a definition hunt.

I consider exotic to be what you're not used to, what is exotic too you. like in my family, brown hair, brown eyes and thick eyebrow is the norm, bu I'm blonde, blue eyed with thin eyebrows so my own sister considers me exotic.
For example, I consider Mulan exotic because of her narrow eyes and her strange nose and lips.

I totally agree with you. I mean, Aurora, Snow, Helga, Meg and Nancy are all exotic white women because their FEATURES are different/unique. Esmeralda, Tiana, Mulan are not unusual looking, they just stand out because they're the only ones of their race. Jasmine teeters between exotic and classic. She looks like Belle but with Aurora's unique face shape, more upturned eyes, a flat nose and thicker brows.

People who act like only nonwhite women can be exotic and different may not know it but that's just racist. I see even more exotic white women because there's so much diversity in the race, but ANYONE can be exotic.

exotic =/= not being white

exotic =/= being a brunette

exotic = different, unusual, even strange.

I disagree. Tiana is not exotic imo,but Esmeralda is very exotic! I don't know about you, but I have NEVER seen a black woman with so bright green eyes, that hair and so thick eyebrows. She is very unusual looking. And I also find Jasmine quite exotic. I agree with the others though.
