Prince Proteus and his crew arrive on the coast of Syracuse with the help of Kidagakash. The prince and princess stare in awe as their ship docks near the land.
Proteus helps Kida down from the boat. She lands on the wooden dock with her bare feet. "Hmmm...I never thought a kingdom would be like this." Kida slowly walks towards the city. "Yes. Welcome to Syracuse." Proteus gives a warm welcome to Kida.
As the shipload of people walk into the city, Proteus talks with Kida about Syracuse. "So let me get this straight." Kida starts. "Go ahead." Proteus says. "You were abandoned by your mother when you were a baby and the King found you. And now you're the prince?" Kida questions him. "Indeed. That is correct." Proteus says.
The prince of Syracuse and his crew arrive at the palace and Proteus sees his father. "Proteus! You have returned from Atlantis!" Kida hides behind Proteus nervously. "Father!" Proteus shakes hands with his father. The King sees Kida behind his son. "Who is this?" he asks as he points at Kida. Proteus takes Kida's hand and they walk towards the King. "Father, this is Kida. She guided us back to Syracuse." Proteus lets go of Kida's hand so she can shake his father's hand. They do so. "It's a pleasure to meet you. Are you from Atlantis?" Kida smiles at the King. "Yes. The pleasure's all mine." Proteus sees that there is a poster on the wall near them and he reads it. Royal Engagement Ball tonight to honor the engagement of Prince Proteus and Ambassador Marina. As Kida and the King are still chatting, Proteus interrupts them. "Father, I am going to take Kida somewhere so she may feel welcome in Syracuse."
Proteus and Kida arrive at a beauty shop at the street corner. "Please get to know Chel. She was an old friend of mine when I was a child. She will give you good information on Syracuse." The prince flees the street back to the palace. "Alright then." Kida whispers to herself. She enters the shop and sees a black haired woman with dark skin. "Hello." Kida says. "Oh! A customer!" The beauty shop woman exclaims. "My name is Chel! And you are?" "Kida." Chel smiles as she crosses her arms. "So, are you here for a makeover?" "Umm.."
