This article is to explain just how powerful Digimon is and I'm only going to be using the first arc so that I don't list too much. This article wasn't made intentionally just to say Digimon is stronger but it isn't as weak or has some weaknesses that many Pokemon fans believe, this is just to clarify some things and bring some of their true strength to light.

I'll first explain what the Digital World and Digimon really are because I have noticed some fans either take the term digital too literally or don't fully grasp exactly what kind of beings they are. Think of the Digital World as a parallel world such as ours and computers serve as a gateway to said world. The fact that Digimon have came to and partially destroyed the real world should be proof enough that they are not just 'data'.

So now that that is out of the way let me bring some of the impressive power feats from the first arc to light. In episode 1 the very first villain Kuwagamon destroyed a building sized amount of cliff with his pincers, this is already a very impressive feat. In episode 2 it only gets more impressive with the appearance of Greymon who fights Shellmon and blasts Shellmon several hundred meters through the air (Shellmon also survived this attack). In episode 3 Seadramon pulls a large rock formation around a lake with its tail which was estimated to be several thousand tonnes in weight. Take into consideration that Seadramon did not even notice it was pulling it at first then what you have is a very casual feat of strength. Episode 4 features the fiery Digimon Meramon who evaporates an entire spring of water which ran through several kilometers from a spring on top of a volcano to a small village several kilometers away. Also take into consideration that fire based attacks make him stronger and make him gain size.
Now I'll get straight to the first major villain in season 1 since I've already named a few small time Digimon and what they can do. Devimon was able to recreate the illusion of a well furnished mansion and a buffet of food which none of was real yet everybody bought it. Later on in the final battle he becomes mountain sized after taking in several of his own Black Gears and show cases devastating attacks and pushed the hero's to their absolute limit.

So as you can see Digimon is far more powerful than some of you had first believed. There are seven seasons and I only mentioned the first arc in season 1 so you can imagine how powerful they get later on.
