What do you think about Deb being in love with Dexter?

I was pretty speechless.

It freaks me out. Which is sad when you think about it. I find Deb being in love with Dexter more disturbing than him killing hundreds of people. The writers are trying to say that it's been obvious since the beginning, but I think that's total B.S. Familiarity causes disinterest. It's really uncommon for people who have grown up together, even if not raise as siblings, to fall in love with each other. It was seen in Asia when families would buy a girl at a young age and have her live in their home thinking that later she would become their son's wife, and the marriages were terrible. They would end in divorce a lot because they weren't attracted to each other. I really loved the brother-sister relationship Dex and Deb shared. And I still don't believe she's really IN love with him. I think she just got confused by the psycho doctor suggesting it. I hope the writers change their minds and just say she was stressed from the new job and serial killer and combined with trying to figure out why Dexter is Dexter she got a little mixed up. She also probably wanted to feel a stronger connection with him since he'd never said I love you out loud. Deb overcompensated her love because she felt like her relationship was one-sided.

yeah she's probebly confusing it with sibling love since all her relationships ended bad and the only one she has left is dexter but she could also be in love with him she may have been in love with him for all her life who knows its more common than you think, lots of perternal brothers and sisters fall in love and nobody knows why maybe its like when you are gay you cant help it its just in you, it would be a great story to explore because it happens wether people want to admit it or not

I know it happens, but it is uncommon. Yeah when there are stories about it, they try to make it into this forbidden secret that happens all the time, yet no one speaks of it, but it's not really true. Anthropologists did studies on it, wondering why it was so taboo, and they discovered that it was part of our survival instinct to keep the species going. We associate the people we grow up around with as people we can't breed with. Yeah there have been cases of adopted siblings falling in love, but they were probably brought in at a much older age. Dexter and Deb grew up from the time he was three years old. If their parents hadn't told them he was adopted, neither of them would have known any different. I just think if the doctor had never said anything Deb wouldn't be thinking she's IN love with at all. I was suprised she didn't just say f-k you and changed the subject. It seemed like such a large leap for the doctor to make. Dexter is Deb's only family. He's also the only consistant thing in her life, why wouldn't she talk about him? He's not only her family, but he also works with her. People go to therapy to complain mostly about two things:work and family.

Dude, seriously. The last episode hasn't aired on the West Coast yet. Can you put a frickin spoiler warning on these? And these are forum topics or pick questions - ask there. At least that way you can put a frickin SPOILER WARNING on it.

Food for thought...Dex and Deb marry and Deb can't testify against Dexter because a wife cannot testify against her husband
