Posted this in the Vergil club and I thought I'd have it here too.
So, I was looking on the devilmaycry.org forum (in conjunction with the picture/interview I found) and discovered this interview from Hiroyuki Kobayashi and there is an interview he did in 2006 stating that Nero is just some made-up character with no hereditary attachment to the Sparda bloodline.

Now, fast forward to the novel 'Deadly Fortune' which 'The Devil's Lair' Forum summarizes this line.
"Back to present time, Sanctus told Nero this story in order to explain how he came to the conclusion that Nero was likely to be Sparda's descendant. He was convinced that it was probably 'that man' from16-17 years old that might have impregnated a woman (a prostitute to be exact) in town and out came Nero who's now 16-17 years old. As sucky as this story is, there's still a piece of good news – Nero isn't convinced so neither should we! Yippee yay! =D"

But rewind back to the Devil May Cry 3 manga which takes place one year before the Devil May Cry 3 video game. In this picture, Arkham says this (in the bottom pictures) alluding to Eva, Dante and Vergil's Mother. The demon attack happened when the twins were 8 years old.
In Devil May Cry 1, Trish says to Dante, "You lost your mother and your brother to evil 20 years ago." Thus making Dante/Vergil 28.
Devil May Cry 4, taking place one year after DMC1, would mean Dante is 29. In DMC3, he is 18. The manga (pictured below and which Capcom's probably going to ignore) states that it's been 10 years since Dante has seen Vergil, and one year after that, Vergil raises the Temen-Ni-Gru.
If Vergil supposedly "popped a prostitute" as the novel implies with Nero's current age, Vergil would have to have done so 2-3 years later after the time of his mom's death for Nero to be the age he is now.
In other words, Vergil would have had to had sex with a prostitute at 10 years old.
When Vergil was 18, Nero was 8
When Vergil was 28, Nero was 18.
Or if you go by the novel, Vergil had to be 6 or 7 when he had sex with a prostitute.
Explain that to me, Capcom.
No wonder Capcom is always retconning/scrapping/saying shit is non-cannon with the DMC series.
This is merely an opinion folks. You are under no obligation to agree or disagree with me. It’s just something that has been stirring in my mind for a minute. Don’t let anyone make up your headcannons about the DMC characters but you. If you believe the Vergil/Nero son theory that’s fine and if you don’t that’s fine too. Besides, they already came out and said it was true about the Nero/Vergil son theory link But Capcom isn’t going to make me ignore all the stuff they don’t consider canon. And I can’t just “go” by the games only because of all the extra material they’ve released!
Then again, how can a Cambion age like a human if his demonic side is supposed to make him age slower a la Vampire Hunter D…nevermind me folks. Just give me Lucia in another game and I’ll be fine.
I know all about the Capcom employee and the DMC artbook reveals (those are mostly scrapped ideas than anything else) and the producers saying Dante’s in his 30′s (can’t find a link of that though) but it makes you wonder if they planned on doing something else/more with Nero concerning his heritage.
Where the fuck is my Sparda game, Capcom?
