Vol 36 - Case Closed

Detective Conan is known as "Case Closed" in North America. The name "Case Closed" results from concerns of copyright conflict of the name Detective Conan.

Viz Media licensed the manga series under the name for English-language publication in North America, which is up to Volume 66 as of April 10, 2018.

Because Victor Gollancz Ltd canceled publication of Detective Conan after 15 volumes in UK,Viz Media continues to handle UK's distribution with the American edition. Funimation Entertainment licensed the anime series for North American broadcast under the name Case Closed. The character names...

Detective Conan Quarter of Silence

Hey guys! It was confirmed that the Detective Conan movie 15, titled "Quarter of Silence" is to be released on April 16, 2011.

In this section there are some interesting facts that a Conan fan ought to know about, if you're a new fan, or if you want to find out more about the story and characters, do not doubt to read through the facts!

- Ran and Shinichi have the same blood type

- When Conan gets shot, Ran says that she has the same blood type as this kid and donates her blood to him, which means that she is very sure about his real identity

- Shinichi's deduction skill is not as good as his dad's

- Ran has suspected Conan's real identity many times, but still she hasn't found out because Conan persuades her everytime...

Detective Conan File 741 and Aoyama Gosho Interview

According to some reliable sources (DetektivConan-News), Detective Conan File 741 will feature a case with the police, more development between Inspector Shiratori and Kobayashi Sensei, and maybe even something romantic involving Inspector Chiba (ooh la la! ;)).

The file was released to Shonen Sunday July 11 after Aoyama Gosho took a small break from the series to gather data.

The file is expected to be released later today in English subs by DCTP, and will be available on our manga site.

Also, according to a recent interview, Aoyama Gosho already knows what the ending will be! If you want to read more, click the link below:

The Black Organization

Today, I'd like to discuss some hints as to who I think is the boss of the Black Organization.
The first three facts I will list are sourced from The Case Closedjavascript:mox(); Casebook: An Essential Guide. The book claims that Gosho Aoyama has said:

The Name of "That Person" has already appeared in the manga in some form. This could imply, and makes it likely that this person is a frequently appearing person, setting off rumors as logical and as silly as can be.

Detective Conan Opening 29

Yes, there is a new opening theme song coming to Detective Conan. The name of the song is "Summer Time Gone", and is expected to be released at the end of August, a perfect time for it to be released, since summer time will be gone.

The CD will be released to Japan August 31, and is expected to release three songs:

1. SUMMER TIME GONE
2. anywhere
3. SUMMER TIME GONE- instrumental

Here is this week's hint that was announced on Conan's twitter a short while ago:

今週発売のサンデーからヒント！　ビッグベンの横にある橋に書かれた文字は「恐怖の谷」…　ホームズのあの話に橋なんてでてきてたっけ？

Translation:Tips from Sunday’s release this week!! Are the letters written on the bridge next to Big Ben… referring to Holmes' story The Valley of Fear?

File 746 will be released in Japan tomorrow, September 1st. The translation should be released soon after that. So, who is this mysterious lady at the end of the chapter? Will a new romance develop between Shinichi and Ran? Is Ran going to find out the big secret, or will Shinichi somehow manage to get himself out of this sticky situation again?

I guess we'll have to wait a short while before our questions are answered... and we'll be sure to keep you posted once we find out anything else!
