I believe you are talking about: Episode 48-49 (Diplomat Murder Case). In this episode, Conan comes home to Ran's house to find the Detective of the West (Hattori Heiji) asking where Kudou Shinichi is. Conan has a cold at this point, so Heiji gives Conan "medicine," which is really a Chinese Liquor. Later, when they go over to a clients house to solve a a series of death threats, they find that the head of the household was murdered in a locked room murder case. Later, the police show up and Conan's cold is getting worse, making it hard for him to solve the crime. Heiji solves the crime and Conan collapses because of the fever. Later, Conan disappears, and when Heiji appears to have solved the crime, Shinichi appears out of nowhere. Shinichi proves that Heiji's deduction was wrong and corrects him. Later, the effect of the alchohol wears off so Shinichi turns back into Conan. Does this help?
