Umm, I'll try to tell you without giving too much away...yes, it's in english, there's one picture at the beginning, it's about the serial killer Beyond Birthday who was raised at Wammy's to be a backup to L, but he thought that he could be better than L, and he thought that the only way that he could is by creating a case that L couldn't solve. :)

There are actually more than one picture. There is a picture at the beginning of every chapter really. It is about L, working through the FBI agent Naomi Misora, trying to solve the case that Beyond Birthday has created.
