Does anyone know what Dean's necklace is of or represents?

I've seen many pictures of him wearing it. I'm just curious.

I just read Deana Martin's (Dean's daughter) book and she said that the necklace was a gold Saint Christopher medal that his daughter Claudia had gotten him.
