April 20, 2006:
Danny was asleep in a chair next to his brother's hospital bed, when their parents walked in.
"Daniel?" Mrs. Messer said as she put her hand on Danny's shoulder.
Danny sat up straight and looked over at his parents.
"You fell asleep in the chair," Mr. Messer pointed out. "You should head home and get some rest."
Danny took off his glasses and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes saying, "I'm not leaving, Dad."
"What happened?" Mrs. Messer asked as she looked at Louie.
"Sonny Sassone happened. He beat Louie within an inch of his life," Danny explained. "I'll spare you the details."

June 20, 2006:
Danny walked into Louie's hospital room and saw that his mother had fallen asleep in the chair again. His father was probably down the hall getting some coffee or talking to the doctor again. None of them ever wanted to leave Louie alone.
Danny placed his hand on mis mom's shoulder and said, "Mom, wake up."
Mrs. Messer jolted awake and looked up at Danny.
"Why don't you go back to the hotel and get some real rest," Danny suggested.
"I don't want to leave him alone, Daniel," Mrs. Messer stated.
"He won't be alone. I'm taking the rest of the day off from work," Danny pointed out.

May 23, 2009:
Danny had just been released from the hospital and decided to pay Louie a visit who was just few floors below him.
"You sure you want to go see him?" Lindsay asked as she pushed Danny down the hall towards the elevator.
"Of course I want to see him. I haven't seen him or my mom since January," Danny replied.
"Will she even been there?" Lindsay asked.
"Everyday," Danny stated.

Lindsay pushed Danny into Louie's hospital room.
"Just wait outside, babe. I'll only stay for about ten minutes," Danny said as he looked up at Lindsay.
Lindsay walked back into the hallway and waited.
Danny looked over at his mother who didn't even seem to notice that he was in the room. He wheeled over to her and place his hand on her knee.
"Mom," Danny said getting her attention.
Mrs. Messer looked up from the book she was reading and said, "Hey Danny."
"Any changes?" Danny asked.
Mrs. Messer just shook her head.
"Why haven't you visited?" Mrs. Messer asked.
"Putting away criminals keeps me busy," Danny said as he wheeled back a couple of inches.
Mrs. Messer just stared at Danny for a long minute, before asking, "What happened?"
Danny started to explain the bar shooting and what the doctor was saying.
