I didn’t mean to hurt anyone when I gave assistance and comfort to Bamon fans in my last blog. I just wanted to assure them that there would be many interesting moments—a nice relationship, really, is what it adds up to—between Bonnie and Damon in Midnight. I mean, face it: Bonnie definitely got the short end of the stick in Shadow Souls, and I was glad to see more of her in all of her different moods in the next book. But that doesn’t mean that Damon has suddenly lost his interest in Elena in Midnight, either.
Remember, this series started out as a love triangle between Stefan (poor Stefan! But he develops quite a bit in Phantom, the book after Midnight), Damon, and Elena. Now it’s some polygonal shape in eleven dimensions, and includes most of the characters as they become “more than friends.” A very witty and literate Nova Scotian even cited some passages that might indicate that Sage was developing a little tendressefor Bonnie. (She was a Delena fan, of course, but I’d give her message a perfect 10 for inventiveness, politeness, and felicity of expression. Not that I ever criticize for grammar or spelling mistakes—as long as I can understand an email, it’s fine. And some of the readers from other countries write such excellent English that I wish I could reply in their native language.)
All I want to do now is to set the record straight for Midnight. I can’t give away the plot, but Damon has quite a tumultuous relationship with both Elena and Bonnie. With each of them, separately, I should say. He is initially angry and defensive towards each, but he eventually shows his true feelings, which run deep in both cases. I can’t guarantee that the Bamon and Delena camps will be satisfied, but then I don’t really control Damon; he does what he likes, is reasonable or unreasonable, and all I can do is follow him and write about his adventures. He wouldn’t be Damon if I could control him.
The only other news is that someone kindly explained to me what Delena (or Bamon) “shipper” meant. I appreciated that.
Naturally, nothing new on the A and E and A (the agony and ecstasy and the agony) with Secret Circle. I’ve decided not to fret about it. Que sera, sera, sirrah.
This is true she is the writer not us so it doesnt matter if you want delena or bamon, she decide what is the best for the character and for the history, she is not writing a fanfics, this is a book, so I feel happy that she is a honest writer, who write the books not only for delena fans or bamons fans, this is for everybody not only for specially group of people
I'm sorry but that's complete bullshit. Damon doesn't exist...she made him up and she's the one writing the story..so she's the one controlling him.
Plus whatever relationship Damon and Elena have in Midnight will be good enough for me I think

why damon would have a relationship with bonnie? they have nothing in common but nothing really! stefan and bonnie is more like, like Damon and Elena (or whenever damon said to Elena that all 2 are the same)
and more so Damon is funny and interresting , why Damon (it's damon the poor in the history lol) ? with Meredith still ok, but BONNIE?! O_O The horror!
damon since the first volume is interrested by Elena, why bonnie in the last book then? it's illogical! Damon does not fall in love every day!

in addition to the message she had marked for us fans DE , I find she really takes us for fools, she said that stefan had not won Elena, that Damon had his chance and now she tells us that Damon could bonnie in the end? pff why not straightforwardly with jenna or ythe sister of Elena-- 'pfff

He wouldn’t be Damon if I could control him.” I understand that your characters write themselves and the things that they do sometimes differently than initially intended. I myself have meant to write a character one way and they came out completely different. BUT, if you don’t like it, you change it. Simple as that. So she obviously likes where Damon lead her or she would have changed it. So her saying that she can’t control Damon or what Damon does is just an excuse so that you don’t get mad at her if Damon’s character does something or ends up with someone that you don’t like.
I already wasn’t sure I was going to read Midnight, I’m tired of L.J. dragging out the series and honestly I’m not sure if Elena chooses in this book (Since there’s going to be another series). Now I’m very skeptical about reading the book. I can’t bare to read through anything Bamon related. I hate seeing their names in the same sentence let alone them actually talking to each other or God forbid…. Kissing. *shudders* (no more of that please).
All L.J. did by posting this was dig a deeper hole that she is slowly burying herself in. I think that from now on she would do better just to keep her mouth shut until the book comes out. Unless she feels compelled to tell us that DE are endgame ;)

In other words, don't be mad at me, she's saying, be mad at Damon for having feelings for Bonnie. She's not in control of what he does as a character. As someone who writes herself, I know that sometimes big plot twists can occur that you haven't planned initially. But writers always know who's in love with who, who's going to get together with who etc. Far from Damon having a life of his own, and not being someone LJ can control, she has written Bonnie into the love triangle because SHE PLANNED IT. Damon has feelings for Bonnie because SHE WANTS HIM TO HAVE FEELINGS FOR HER. I'm sorry to say this, but it sounds like LJ Smith clearly planned for the Bamon relationship to develop into something more romantic, which really sucks for all the DE fans who have borne with the series for so long, hoping and waiting for Elena to choose Damon. Bamon fans will undoubtedly be delighted with this news. By giving Bamon fans what they want (kind of), she's saying that Bamon have a good chance...thus setting them up for even more disappointment and anger from them in the future, because as long as DE have a huge fanbase, she will not be able to drop them entirely. It's a vicious circle, and she's not doing anything to stop it.
However Bonnie has been in the background the whole time in terms of relationships and surely LJ isn't stupid enough to dedicate an entire book to DE only to drop it. She forged it as a love triangle from the get-go, and I think she should keep it that way.
That, and I stick to my guns when I say the main reason why there are more Bamon fans is because they're Stelena fans wanting rid of Damon with Elena. I mean for Gods sake Bamon have so little time together, why suddenly force a load of Bamon in midnight after SS? It's crazy!

i could care less about all the Bamon bullshit, and I'm very sure if they DID end up being end game, i would be really pissed off. But that's not going to stop me from reading a great book. There's still a possiblity of Delena...
The thing I'm most shocked about is... Phantom? What the hell? When is this going to END! Isnt this supposed to be the one where she choices? AND! What happened to Bonnie and MATT? Has she forgotten about them... That the only person i ship Bonnie with in the books... and they've had their moments! i think Matt would be a greater partner for Bonnie than DAMON. And Bonnie likes EVERYONE. She liked Stefan and Matt first, and then came Damon and Alaric.
