If the triangle is actually going to become real, then she HAS to. But it won't be in the way we expect, because so far Season 2 hasn't gone the way any of us had anticipated. I think the dark forces which are threatening the town and Elena will draw them closer together. What I would really like to see in future episodes is for Elena to see that there's a darker side to Stefan than she thought. I would like the ties that she has to him to slowly begin to fray. Then I would like to see DE begin to rebuild their friendship. If that doesn't happen, and Elena continues to remain cool towards Damon then I think it will take a dramatic turn of events for her to acknowledge that she cares for him. Sometimes people who are in denial need to be shaken out of it by a life-changing incident.
"Somewhere along the way you decided I was worth saving," Damon says in 1x22. Now that he's ruined that relationship and trust, Elena has to decide if she's willing to let him back in her life when he's proved he's NOT worthy of it, or her. But if Damon doesn't think he's worth saving, he's not going to want to save himself by changing. We still have the rest of the series to go, so she won't hate him forever.

I think she'll be really really reluctant to. I mean this is Elena-You know "Stefans love lifts her up where she belongs and yada yada yada". But I don't think she'll be able to ignore the crazy sexual tension between them or her growing feelings for him. I think she'll act on them somehow but not by necessarily giving Damon a chance. More like a "moment."

I think she will but not anytime soon. Right now she is too involved with Stefan and of course Damon 'killed' her brother. I think there is a growing sexual attraction between both of them and it frustrates Elena but I am not sure if she has any romantic feelings for him. I think the real triangle could begin season 2 finale and into season 3. It hasn't been much of a triangle thus far.
I think she'll eventually give in and give Damon a chance because she'll realize there is something between them but I don't think she'll jump right in to it. She slowly fall for him more and more.
I think she will. The seasons too early for her to hate him for the WHOLEEE time lol :) plus Kevin said they'd be some Delena this season in a spoiler I posted on the spots wall :D
