Do you guys think Elena will ever forgive Damon? (i need hope and your comments always make me feel better =D)

Of course she will. It wouldn't be a love triangle if she hated him for the rest of the season - and it would make the show feel really flat as a result. I think most - if not all - fans who ship DE understand that Delena aren't your average, run-of-the-mill TV couple. DE have to face all manner of obstacles to be together because, like Romeo and Juliet, they're not supposed to be. There is darkness, there is anguish, there are moments (like now) when you can't help wondering how on earth they're gonna get past this. Unlike many couples, it's not about the destination, it's about the journey, and that's why so many people are emotionally invested in their relationship. Because they go through highs and lows and ups and downs, and we go through everything that they do. In other words, we empathize with them. So ultimately, it will feel a hundred times more rewarding when Delena DO get together. Watching their scenes together in 2x01, I was more convinced than ever that they needed to get together and that they will be. Not only did Damon make his feelings for Elena known, along with how much she affects him, but it showed how well Elena knows him too: 'You don't admit that you get hurt. You get angry and cover it up and then you do something stupid'; which is what happens at the end of the episode. I also agree that DE's relationship has been foreshadowed, when Elena cried and said 'I hate him.' As Katherine said, 'That sounds like the beginning of a love story, not the end of one.'

Stay positive. ;) I'm sure this is a big obstacle that Delena will have to overcome...but that's what they do and that's what makes them a great couple...they overcome LOTS of obstacles. Elena absolutely CANNOT hate Damon for a long period of time, the show would be trash if they did that. The show is partly based on a love triangle b/w Elena and the two bros, so how would it be a love triangle if Elena continued to 'hate him'? Sooner or later Elena HAS to forgive Damon and embrace him once again. Elena eventually has to see the beautiful humanity of Damon (which we saw TONS of in 2x01) and fall in love with that side too. Don't give up hope! In my eyes this is something that will make Delena's foundation as friends (and future couple) a lot stronger and incorporates their love/hate relationship. ;D Damon and Elena have a push and pull factor, and they can't ignore/hate each other long it seems lol.

I was kind of upset they went in that direction too, but the fact that Katherine mentions love can grow from hate (in the same episode no less), makes me think they're foreshadowing romace for Delena.

she will forgive him in time...i have hope because Stefan said to Katherine that i hate you and you remember what Katherine answer was "well Stefan that sound like the beginning of a love story not an ending" and Elena said the same thing about Damon" i hate you"... IT'S JUST THE BEGINNING BABY!!!

Like Katherine said, "I hate you?" doesn't sounds like the end of a love story, but the beginning.
