Crush Question

Hey, I have a question about something (I'd like a guy's advice too on this!)

So, I've liked this guy for about 5 and a half months. Lately I've been trying to get over him since he knows that I like him and still nothing's happening. We're still friends though, and one day I was talking to him on facebook and he asked if I was going to prom. A bit shocked I told him yes I am, then he asked me who I was going with. I told him that I'm going with just some friends. But since then, I've gotten a prom date, even though we don't like each other in that way (Or at least I don't like him in that way. I hope to make it clear to him that I just see us as friends).
So now I'm wondering if I should tell my crush about the prom date. I just don't want to my crush to see me with my date at prom and think that I lied to him, or that something's going on between us. Should I tell him, or should I not? I know this isn't a big deal, but I just don't want my crush angry at me for anything since I really don't want to lose him!

Thanks for the advice! :) And haha I hope he likes me! But it's been so long since he's known that I like him and he's done barely anything about it. :/ He said he wanted to get to know me better but we never did anything. :/ And thanks!!! :)

Well i sence that he has feelings for u at the least... but i think he likes u! and sometimes u have to make the first move ,hun! he could just be kinda scared that u might say no u know what i mean!!!

That's true, and I did give him my number, but he made an excuse to why he couldn't call. :// I always ask him to hang out with my friends and I but he never goes anywhere with me, and I asked him to hang out once through a facebook message. Like jus thim and I, and he never repsonded. :/ We can also go a week without saying a word to each other too since we don't even have classes together. Sometimes he acts like he's interested, but a lot of other times he acts like he doesn't care. :/
