It sounds like he likes you, but he's too shy to show it. Or he's just trying to avoid telling you that he doesn't feel the same...

I know it sounds harsh, the last part i mean, but, I'm an expert when it comes to guys trying not to act like they like you. Ergo, my best guy friend -_- xD But anyways, it sounds like he likes you, but remember, prepare yourself for the worst and you'll never be disappointed (:

Uh, it sounds like he might be interested in you. :) If he didn't like you, or want to be around you, then why did he walk with you to lunch or choose to be around you in health class? I would say, next time he walks with you, or is around you at all, try to talk to him. Say "hi" and start up some small talk. Who knows? He could end up liking you. :}

And, to your last question there, I don't think it's awkward for him. I mean, he's the one who chose to stand next to you, and walk with you, right? The only reason why it could've been awkward is that everything was all in silence. Try to talk to him a bit. :) Maybe he's around you like that because he wants to get to know you. :) And, yeah, I think he could like you. :) It sounds like he was trying to be playful with you there when you were going to put your markers back (playfulness = flirting! <3)
