Sorry, but how does Auggie do the tech work if he cant see the keyboard and what is the green flashlight that he carries in his hand do it....it obviously helps him see but how if he is totally blind

I cannot believe no one has answered your question in seven months, oh well, here goes my attempt.

That fancy purple thing attached to his keyboard is refreshable braille display that changes with whatever he's reading onscreen, he also said in one of the season 1 episodes that has an embedded doc. screen reader (or something like that) that reads everything back to him via headphones.

That little laser thingy he uses is a combination of a few different types of real technology all combined into one package. Chris said in an interview that its meant to be a prototype that can't be taken out of Langley- which makes sense since you never see him use it outside of the office. How it works is anybody's guess LOL.

I think he can do all his tech stuff by a fancy brail pad that can change as the information changes. Also I think the little green light is like an echo-location type thing, so it vibrates if it detects something that could potentially be in the way.
I'm not sure, those are just my guesses
