Communism Question

Why did Communism fall apart in Russia?

A friend of mine was telling me about it and he never quite gave me the full story. Just looking for what really happened :)

After the Iron Curtain movement swept across Europe and proxy wars were fought in Vietnam and Korea in order to keep Communism out of the governments, Gorbachev simply had no more good moves to play. NATO was formed and all the strong contries had turned anti-communist. Gorbachev made the wrong decision (as if there were any good ones left for him to choose) and Russia's Communism fell because, if he did keep it, it would be like a ten year old kid fighting brawny teenaged boys.
