City Of Bones Question

Does anyone know what Simons shirt means in the begining of City of Ashes, with the chicken.

In case you dont know when I'm talking about, their in a CD shop, and Clary says she knows what it means. Then Simon says 'No you don't your a good girl'.
Me and my friends were trying to work it out, but where lost. Is it an American thing?
