Do you know if there will be a 2nd movie?

I think they'll make a second movie because the ending was like a cliffhanger and the second movie will most likely be called Vampire Mountain. The movie might be out in 2011 or 2012 because they can't decide on the sequel or plot of the movie.

I don't think that would be a good idea. I didn't like the first movie very much and I'm sure there are other people who read the books who felt the same. It wasn't HORRIBLE but I can't stand when they don't follow the books. It was such a great series but I felt like they took away the real reason I liked them. I wouldn't mind a second movie if they follow what's supposed to happen.

i hope theres a second movie because the first was bolloks compared to the books. it took me a month to read the whole series. the books are seriesly good and i would personly recomend them to any one tbh. Also has any one read the new Larten Crepsley Book , because i read it in a weekend and it was QUALITY!! :)

i think there going to be another of the movie, they based it on the first 3 books so they are probily going to show 4,5,6 as one movie, and it seemed discontinued, and you HAVE to read the books they ROCK!

They were dropping hints throughout the movie that made it obvious that there HAS to be a sequal. According to Chris Massoglia, a sequal will come depending on responses from the fans. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't and just left us hanging like that; they scewed everything else up.

I think they will make an other movie. In the end of it, Gavner said "We will leave with the boy at dawn" or something like that. So my guess is that they WILL make anothe movie! Cant wait!!!! x3

there needs to be a second movie. there has to. i read the books but i missed out on vampire rites because nodoby had it in stock so i had to move onto books 7-8-9. i need to know what happens. and it will be really interesting to see what happens now that they spilled steve being a vampaneze and stuff but i think the war will be very interesting to see though that wont come til the end. however they better not make crepsleys death scene to emotional because i am a sucker when somebody dies and i will be a sobbing mess. but somebody does need to slap him because hes just plain rude and grouchy. and steve could do with one to i mean talk about needing a padded cell and a straight jacket. though those little people arnt what i thought theyde be but everytime harkat put on the puppy eyes i was like AWWW though harkat is ment to be an ex vampire prince traitor who can talk and stuff so wtf is he doing going round biting peoples fingers? they messed up big time though it was still a good movie. :)

I saw the 1st Cirque du Freak:The Vampire's assistant last year and really liked it.I hope they make a 2nd movie though I read the books and the movie makers put some things the same, but the details were off for example Debbie hemlock being Rebecca a monkey girl and steve's BIG revealment of being a vampaneze were both different from the book(among other things). I think if there were to be another movie they would majorly need to work some things out.

there will be a sequel but in order for them to recieve the book rights for Vampire Mountain and get the "green light" to start, they have to have all the "KEY" actors and actresses back and one of the lead actors(josh hutcherson/Vampaneze) is busy starring in 3 other movies and just finished starring in red dawn so i would guess that the sequel will start shooting in late 2012 or 2013

i don' t think there will be another movie because they had Murlaugh in the 1st one and they new Harkat's name witch we didn't know till the 4th book and the movie was completely diff. than the book and i guess they should show they battle of they war of scars.

I hope so! I loved the series. But the thing i didn't like was that they didn't stick to how the first movie went because Steve doesn't come up as a vampanese until LATER in like what the 5th or 6th book? I don't remember cause last i read his books was 8th grade. And other stuff happened that didn't happen in the first movie. I think it'll be a bit challenging for them after for the sequels cause they'll be a bit different than how they really are..

There most probably will not be a 2nd one, as they did not do so well at the box office and reviews from critics. Which I find unfortunate as I really do like the saga :(

I just saw the movie on Syfy and I certainly hope a sequel is made. I really enjoyed the new take on vampires and the themes of acceptance of diversity. As the world tends towards polarization in politics, religion, socialization, and economics, it is good to explore the values of acceptance and diversity.

I personally have read all the different series and trilogies of Darren Shan and loved it. True they poorly edited the movie but that's okay because, you learn from your mistakes and they need to think it through. On the plus side it was still a good movie and a second movie should be made.

I reckon it will come out in probably 2016 or 2017 but I don't know for sure. The film is great, and the books are KILLER!!! But yes, they left the film on a cliffhanger. They really should do another one soon.

It has now been 7 years and they haven't made a new movie, but I am hoping they will because it is not fear to not make the 2nd movie when the main part hasn't even happened yet.

I really liked the movie but I haven't finished the whole book series. I am on book 4 Vampire Mountain and it's good so far.

They will most definitely not make any more movies. at least not with the same actors as it is way to far down the line to bring back young master Shan for one. and if that wasn't the only reason for anyone who actually has read the books, ( I know a lot of you will have. ) They squashed all 12 books down into one movie and I am very sorry to say that I found the movie itself abysmal in they way it was put together. I would love for some budding filmmakers from a college or university to put together a short film series, even a TV show could work if they got the right cast and scripted it just right. Unfortunately I can't see that happening any time soon.

I don't know how they ever could continue the movies. They ruined the big twist already. Remember how we didn't find out what the little people were till around book 12? and it played a big part in how the movie ended? yeah now it's just a magic pocket watch that makes them. The idiot director wrote himself into a corner and ruined any chance of making it a prolonged story. Not to mention all the little changes here n there that ruined later plot twists or important factors of the story.

Not to mention, if you watch the behind the scenes, the director got caught out admitting he'd been trying to get his shitty movie idea turned into a movie for agges, but nobody wanted to know. Then he got the rights to the books and said to himself "Now I can make my movie". He flat out admitted this movie wasn't really the saga of Darren Shan. It was his shitty story that nobody wanted to know about.

Now that HIS story has been told, and it bombed, I doubt he'll even bother making any more movies.

What we should really be asking, is if the books will ever get turned into a Netflix tv show. That's a lot more possible and would work a lot better. Easier to turn 12 books into 12 seasons than 1-3 movies

I sure do hope they make a second, it would a horrible mistake to leave it at an end with the movie. The book series was incredible, and deserves a TV show, or a whole new series like harry potter. Its a disgrace to all Darren Shan fans by throwing together all the books into one cheesy movie. It has its moments but all in all i am so disappointed. It would be really hard to keep that movie series going, they would have to start over or start a TV show.

unfortunalty they arent going to make a film for the second darran shan book because, the first film didnt get enough praise (it wasnt successful enough), so they wont bother making the second becase they think the outcome will be the same
