Jesus wasn't born in December.

It is in the winter because Christmas is a very old tradition. It was known as Yule.
They used to celebrate Christmas to bring back the light in the dark short and cold day's.

It has nothing to do with Jesus at all. It is a very old Germanic/Celtic tradition.
It has to be in the winter because then the day's are the shortest.

You could try moving to the Southern Hemisphere, where it is summer during December!
