I walked down the bakery store, just coming back from work. I sniffed the fresh air of the bread, which tasted delicious. My boyfriend, Antoine was strolling along with me, talking the night away. I paid absolutely no attention to him, just dreaming about chocolates and their flavory tastes. Creamy vanilla, white, caramel fillings.....delicious! Antoine gently tapped me on the shoulder, unaware if I was listening. He smirked at me when I lied and said yes, which caused him to continue. I sighed, I wonder if all he thought about was his job. Tax papers, faxes, emails, he never had time for us. Sometimes, he would leave in the middle of a date to accept a call or stop a kiss to write back an email. I loved Antoine, but I didn't know if he felt the same way. On the way back to our apartment, I spotted Chef Gust-eau's finest chocolate eatery. My mouth watered at the sudden sight of chocolate. Antoine spotted me and asked if we should have our date there. I shook my head yes enthusiastically, causing him to chuckle heartily. I wanted to devour those tasty treats in the front window. He grabbed my hand gently and led me inside Chocolate Heaven.
The eatery smelled of sweets as soon as I entered. And man was it big! But from corridor to corridor and from corner to corner, chocolates were as far as the eye can see. Without even looking, I could tell Antoine was waiting to devour his plate, even though we didn't order yet. I sighed as I stared at the chocolate dishes. One was a Chocolate Croissant with drizzled strawberry sauce over its fluffy roll. Next to that dish, a pie filled with strawberry and chocolate sauce perfectly melted into one sweet dish. On top was a piece of kiwi and lime that was baked and juiced to perfection. Antoine wanted to sink his teeth into that one, me too. I was chocolate crazed, willing to devour anything as long as it was delicious. People called me a pig because I ate everything on my plate and sometimes a hog. I would ignore them and happily chew away at my meal. But chocolates, don't mess with my chocolates. Especially milk chocolate. Drizzled with bee honey and strawberries on the side sprinkled with cinnamon..... Mmm... I shook my head out that fantasy and pointed to my favorite dishes. Antoine laughed at my crazed expressions and pinched my cheeks.
When we were next in line, we ordered a variety of treats. In total it came out to 20.00 dollars. I tried not to eat fast in fear of throwing up or getting full quickly. I savored every bite as if it were my last. I tasted sweet honey and sour like and sugary chocolate with dark, smooth macaroons and a dish that was made up of pure sugar. Antoine ate his as slow as a worm running from a bird savoring every bite as I did. I noticed him looking at me a lot lately and taking to me more and showing more love than he usually did. I was quite suspicious, but I continued back to my chocolate eating. My final dish, a chocolate parfait drizzled in caramel sauce was set before my grumbling stomach. I wolfed it down cheerfully, not noticing the waitress's intriguing looks. Antoine shot her a dirty look, which caused her to leave our table with a sour taste in her mouth. She looked like she had just eaten a lime whole. But back to my chocolate fantasy. Antonine bought us the Valentines Day Special, which made me feel loved. A rich creamy chocolate cake with strawberries appeared before us. We fed each other, and told love jokes. I smiled and he smiled back. We kissed and left.
