As you probably know, cheetahs and leopards look very similar and many people mistake cheetahs for leopards or the opposite. Look at two images of a leopard and a cheetah, then you'll see that they're very different from each other.
1. Cheetahs are much more lanky, having a thin stomach for easier running. But leopards have more muscles, though I may not know much about leopards, but I'm guessing it's for hunting purposes.
2. Cheetahs have a larger chest because they have extra large lungs and heart so they can withstand their large bursts of energy.
3. A leopard's spots are more like blotches together with a darker shade of fur in the middle, they also have less spots than the cheetah. Cheetahs have many small dots on their fur, rather than blotches.
4. Cheetahs have tear lines on their face, or you could say stripes on their face. Leopards don't because cheetahs need to see through the sun's glare in the hot Savannah.
5. Leopards have pale green shade of eyes, cheetahs have dark brown.
6. Unlike other cats, cheetahs cannot retract their claws because they improve their speed. But leopards can retract their claws because sometimes they need them, sometimes they don't.
7. This is an obvious reason, but it counts as one. Cheetahs are meant to be quick and leopards are meant for surprise attacks.
8. Leopards cannot purr, only while exhaling. Cheetahs purr when happy, calm and during tense moments.
I'm pretty sure there are more reasons, but you can search that up yourself.
