Night had taken over the day and Dean lay on his uncomfortable bed, wide awake. Sam hadn’t been very enthusiastic about Dean’s plan, but he’d promised he’d talk to Anna about it.
“Do you have a death wish or something?”
Dean turned his head aside to see Anna.
“The moment you’re back in Heaven Raphael will kill you. You tried to escape. They kill you for that” she warned him.
“Is that why you haven’t been there?” Dean asked, sitting up. “You could’ve gotten Cas out long ago, but you’re too much of a coward to even try. I went to Hell for my brother, and you can’t even go to Heaven for yours?”
Anna looked away, hurt and ashamed.
“It’s dangerous. For both of us. It won’t do Cas any good if we’re dead. We should wait until Cas wakes up and is his normal self again” she reasoned, without success.
“No, that’s not good enough” Dean replied firm. “He won’t be his normal self until he’s whole again” He stood from the bed and walked towards her. “Look, I’m not asking you to come with me. But I have to do this. I owe Cas. I’ve done some really messed up things and I have to make it right”
“You weren’t yourself, Dean. Lucifer jinxed you. You couldn’t help it” Anna defended him softly. She bent her head and then looked up. “Okay, I’ll do it” she gave in. “But I’m coming with you”
“They will kill you” Dean commented hesitatively.
“As they will you” Anna fired back. “At least we’ll have each other’s back”

Since there was no way any of them was going to get any sleep, they packed their bags and loaded the Impala. Dean placed himself behind the wheel, Sam sat next to him and Meg on the backseat.
“First stop: Pontiac, Illinois” Dean said, as he started the engines and drove ahead. As they drove Dean turned on the radio to break the silence.
Meg stared out of the window. She felt utterly powerless. Had she still been a demon she would’ve just zapped herself to him. But then maybe she wouldn’t have felt this way and she wouldn’t even bother to go find him.
Maybe this was a sign. Maybe she was supposed to let go and go back to her old life.
No!, she reproached herself. You’re not going back to killing for fun. You didn’t get this far to throw it all away. You’re going to find Cas and get him back.
“Everything okay, there?” Dean asked.
“Yeah, I’m good” Meg replied with a mischievous smile.
