A few hours earlier.
The woman withdrew the knife and stepped out of the car. She opened the door to the driver’s seat and pointed the knife at Erin.
“Get out” she threatened. Terrified Erin obeyed. The woman grabbed her arm and forced her to turn around. “Walk”
Erin walked towards Rose’s house and the woman banged the door with her free fist, leaving stains of blood.
Seven minutes later a distracted woman in a purple dressing-gown opened the door. She looked like she had just gotten out of bed.
“Good evening, ma’am” the woman started smiling. “I was wondering if you would show me some hospitality?”
The woman gazed at Erin, recognizing her, though she didn’t know where she’d seen her before.
“Oh, sorry, my bad. This is Meg” Erin frowned confused. “And I’m Ruby” the woman introduced herself and Erin. “You might want to move over, unless you want to end up like Rosie over there”
Ruby stepped aside, dragging Erin along, so the car came in view.
When the woman saw her daughter’s body she pressed her hands against her mouth and her eyes filled with tears.
“So, are you letting us in or what?” Ruby repeated her question.
The woman walked backwards and shut the door.
“Well, I did ask you nicely” Ruby said. She lifted her foot and kicked the door in. The woman screamed and tried to run, but Ruby grabbed her. “Easy now. I don’t want to hurt you” Then she laughed. “Who am I kidding? I’d love to hurt you”
She grabbed the woman’s neck and snapped it. She let go and the woman dropped on the floor.
