Evan was back in Denver, in his office at work. He wanted to try to get some work done, but feared that it would be wishful thinking. His thought kept wandering off to Erin.
The door opened and Evan jumped up. His co-worker and best friend Daniel walked into the room. He walked towards the desk and sunk down.
“How are you?” he asked a little nervous. He turned around in the chair.
“I’m fine, considering” Evan replied vague.
“And Erin? How’s she coping with everything?” Daniel asked. “It’s just that…the guys have been asking and I’m not sure what to tell them”
“Tell them it’s none of their business” Evan replied. Daniel raised his eyebrows. Evan rubbed his eyes and looked up. “Sorry” he mumbled tired. “She’s still suffering from memory loss. She’s staying with her parents for the time being”
Daniel nodded. “You know we can’t just pretend nothing happened, right? I mean, your fiancé is a murderer. Or she’s at least accessory”
“She doesn’t remember doing any of those things” Evan pulled up his shoulders.
“Doesn’t change the fact that she did it” Daniel replied sharp.
“She didn’t want to do it” Evan defended Erin. “Novak forced her to. He’s probably the one that kidnapped her and he threatened her, so she had no choice”
“Well, either way, she’s going to need a good attorney when they find her” Daniel assured him.
“No one will find her. The only people who know about her whereabouts are you and I. You’re not going to stab a knife in my back, are you, my friend?” Evan said manipulative.
“No” Daniel sighed. “No, of course not”
“If she needs legal defending, I’ll be right there for her” Evan said.
“You’re emotionally involved. Let me do it” Daniel suggested. “In the meantime, try to keep the press away as far as possible”

Since there was no way any of them was going to get any sleep, they packed their bags and loaded the Impala. Dean placed himself behind the wheel, Sam sat next to him and Meg on the backseat.
“First stop: Pontiac, Illinois” Dean said, as he started the engines and drove ahead. As they drove Dean turned on the radio to break the silence.
Meg stared out of the window. She felt utterly powerless. Had she still been a demon she would’ve just zapped herself to him. But then maybe she wouldn’t have felt this way and she wouldn’t even bother to go find him.
Maybe this was a sign. Maybe she was supposed to let go and go back to her old life.
No!, she reproached herself. You’re not going back to killing for fun. You didn’t get this far to throw it all away. You’re going to find Cas and get him back.
“Everything okay, there?” Dean asked.
“Yeah, I’m good” Meg replied with a mischievous smile.
