NOTE: The following story was only written for a good friend of mine. I wanted to inform anyone on this in case they are wondering.
Sakura’s Big Birthday Party

It was a beautiful afternoon in the town of Reedington. School was over and as such most of the kids have already headed into town or were on their way home. Two kids in particular were Sakura Avalon and Madison Taylor, who were hanging at Penguin Park. “You know my birthday is two days.” Sakura said as she turned her head to her friend and smiled. Madison smiled as well as she already knew. “May I ask what you would like for your birthday this year?” She asked. Sakura didn’t have much to respond to as she didn’t know what she wanted. However, she did say that all she wanted was to spend a day with her close friends. As she giggled, Madison couldn’t help but feel a little sadness. She did want to give Sakura the best gift ever. It was something she would ponder. As the sky slowly changed colors to signify the evening, Sakura sighed as she gazed at the sky with a bright smile.
“Madison, do you remember the first time we met Kasey down here?” Madison stared at her with a look of surprise at first but then smiled. “Of course I remembered,” She respond. “We were walking home from school and as he passed by the park we noticed him sitting there on the bench by himself. We approached and asked him what he was doing or if anyone was with him and was just so generous to us. But what made you think about that Sakura?” Sakura turned her head to Madison and had a look of wonder. “Because I was just thinking about the good times we all had in the past.” Madison once more smiled as she felt the same too. Remembering the good times was something wonderful that nobody would resist.
After hanging in the park for several more minutes, it was now dark. The street lamps suddenly turned on as Sakura made her way home. “I better hurry and get home before my brother and father worry.” She said to herself. She quickly picked up the pace as she headed close to her neighborhood. After entering and saying she was home, both her brother and father greeted her. “You’re late squirt.” Tori said. Sakura sighed as she looked at him with a little annoyance. “I know.” She moaned. Her father smiled as he didn’t worry too much. After dinner, Sakura quickly rushed to her room and was greeted by Kero, who was busy playing a video game.
A little while later, Kero remembered something he wanted to tell Sakura. “I know your birthday is around the corner,” He said. “Is there anything you want me to give to you?” Surprised by what he asked, she turned to him and smiled brightly. “You don’t have to worry in getting me anything Kero. I’m happy with the way things are now and I couldn’t ask for anything more.” Even though what she said was nice and true, it still didn’t cheer Kero up. For everything she did and for being the best friend there could be, he still wanted to do something nice. Not wanting to make things worse, he let it all go for the night.
During the night, while she was asleep, Sakura was having a dream. In the dream, she was having a flashback that involved the first time she and Madison met Kasey out in Penguin Park. Dressed in their school uniforms, they were making their way pass the park when they happened to turn to the right and noticed a young boy sitting alone on a park bench. They looked at each other for a second and decided to go talk to the stranger. As they approached, the boy noticed them coming and started feeling a little uneasy. “What do you guys want?” He asked nervously. Both Sakura and Madison stared at him with bright smiles on their faces. None of them spoken yet but the stranger continued to feel a little uneasy. “My name is Sakura Avalon,” Sakura said politely. “And this is my friend Madison Taylor. We both noticed you sitting out here all alone.” The stranger looked at them with surprise but didn’t have anything to say.
It took him a little time, but the stranger was able to get something out. “M-My name is Kasey Enloe.” He said as he stared at the ground and his shoes. Sakura and Madison smiled as they were impressed by his name and that they were happy he found the courage to speak. As the minutes flown, Kasey was able to open up to them and discussed everything- about what he liked, where he came from, and what lead him to being all alone in Penguin Park. The tragic story made both Sakura and Madison very sad. “That’s just terrible,” Sakura said as a look of sadness filled her face. “How were you able to survive after that accident?” Kasey stared at the ground once again as his expression was also filled with sadness. “I’m guessing it was a miracle. But still, I wasn’t expecting myself to go through this.” Sakura and Madison stared at each other for a second and drew their attention back to him. “You know, you don’t have to live like this. Why don’t you stick with us? We can make things better.” Madison said. Kasey turned and looked at her with surprise. “Oh no. I can’t let ya’ll do that. Besides, I’m older and everyone will think it’s weird.” They were shocked by what he said. “Weird? No it won’t be weird. I have a friend who’s older than me and it’s not weird at all.” Sakura exclaimed. Kasey as indeed surprised and after hearing what she said he accepted their friendship.
On the following day, in Reedington Elementary, class was almost close to beginning as Sakura was sitting on her desk. Madison had just arrived as she greeted Sakura. “Did you have a nice sleep last night?” She asked. “Yes I did,” Sakura respond. “Though I had that dream where you and I first met Kasey several years ago.” Madison was surprised. Just then, Li and Melin entered the classroom and greeted both Sakura and Madison. “Hey Sakura, I know your birthday is tomorrow. Is there anything Li and I can get you?” Melin asked with a smile. Sakura was surprised by what she asked but smiled as she shook her head. This caused both Melin and Li to be surprised. “What do you mean you don’t want anything? It’s your birthday isn’t it?” “I honestly don’t want anything,” Sakura respond as she smiled. “Really. It’s okay. All I want is to spend birthday with everyone I’m close to.” While what she said happened to be the truth, everyone still couldn’t believe it. Even Li was overly concerned about this.
When it was time for lunch, Madison, Melin, and Li all met outside near the courtyard. They gathered in a closed corner where they could talk privately. “Has Sakura changed in any way?” Melin asked. “No. At lease I don’t think so,” Madison respond as she was thinking. “I do remember she was thinking about the time when she and I met Kasey but I don’t think that’s what’s troubling her.” Whatever it was, nobody was able to figure it out. Not even the minds of both Melin and Li. “We need to at lease do something for her,” Li said as he crossed his arms. “After all she’s done for us she deserves a lot than we give her credit for.” Everyone agreed. “But what can we do?” Melin asked. Madison had an idea.
Everyone was impressed by her plan. “You’re honestly going to do all of this just for Sakura?” Melin asked with amazement. With a little nod, Madison smiled. “I think it’ll be the best thing for her. After all, we do agree that she deserves a lot more than a basic moment.” While that plan would be difficult to maintain, everyone agreed. “So, what is it we have to do in the meantime?” Li asked. “It’s simple,” Madison respond. “Try to talk to Chelsea, Nikki, Rita, and Zachery about it and I’ll handle talking to Kasey and Felicia. If you and Melin take care of that, than it will all go smoothly.” With the plan now in the making, Li and Melin understood what they needed to do and Madison’s job would be fair and easy.
When the hours of school were over, Madison walked down the hallways until she reached Kasey’s classroom. She knocked on the door and she let herself in for at which Kasey invited her to enter. “What brings you out here?” He asked as he stepped down from the small ladder. “Kasey, there is something I need to talk to you about.” Madison said as she offered to help him down. After thanking her, he walked to his main desk and sat on the rollie chair as he listened. Madison explained her plan on what to do for Sakura’s birthday, which was tomorrow. Upon listening, Kasey was surprised. “Her birthday really is tomorrow? Gee, I wish I’d known in time. I could’ve gotten her something.” Madison giggled as she tried to get back on topic. “So anyway, I was thinking of pulling a big surprise birthday party for her at her house and I wanted to know if you and Felicia would like to come and help out.” Kasey agreed, but he wasn’t sure if Felicia would attend. “I’ll have to talk with her about it but I’m sure she’ll come too.” With a big smile and a bow of thanks, Madison thanked him and left the classroom for at which Kasey smiled as he watched her leaving.
While Madison took care of her side of the plan, Li and Melin were currently talking with Chelsea and Zachery. They already talked with Nikki and Rita and have agreed to come. “So, we both were wondering if you would like to come and help us celebrate her birthday.” Melin said. “That is so nice of you guys to do that,” Chelsea said with a smile. “Sure we can come. We will make sure to bring something.” After agreeing to come, they all bid farewell. “Well, that certainly was a lot of work.” Melin moaned. Li however wasn’t agreeable with what she said. “I hardly call it work,” He said as his face continued to stay the same. “All we did was asked Sakura’s friends to come to the party.” Poor Melin just didn’t understand the meaning of “hard labor”. Just then, Madison walked to them. “How did it go?” She asked. “It went pretty good I think,” Li said. “We first talked to Nikki and Rita and they both agreed to come. Then we asked Chelsea and Zachery and they both agreed as well.” Madison was delighted. She also managed to tell them that her talk with Kasey also went well and that he would ask Felicia to come as well. At that moment, Li started blushing for at which poor Melin was not impressed. “Why is it always about her with you Li?!” She asked with anger.
As the day turned to evening, Kasey and Felicia were in the hotel room. Kasey was finishing his supper while Felicia was watching TV on the bed. After washing his dishes, he made his way to the bed. Instead of getting on it he just stood there. This worried Felicia a little. “Kasey, what’s wrong?” She asked. He managed to snap back and decided to finally tell her about tomorrow. “Sakura’s birthday is tomorrow,” He said as he sat on the edge of the bed. “Madison’s been planning a huge get together party for her and she invited me and you to come. So, would you like to go?” Felicia’s face clearly showed how she felt. She was both happy and surprised. “Sure I’ll go! Sakura’s like my best friend ever and I’ll do anything for her! We have to go shopping first thing in the morning though okay?” With a little chuckle, he agreed.
Meanwhile, over at Madison’s place, Madison was in her room planning for tomorrow. As she was going over her plans, she suddenly came to a stop as she too was remembering the times she and Sakura met Kasey and how much they spent time together. The memories were clearer than ever and she couldn’t help but smile. “It has been a long time,” She said to herself quietly. “Been a long time sense we’ve became the best of friends. I just hope the memories will stay together for as long as we all shall live. I’m-sure of it.” Both of her eyes suddenly formed to tears but they weren’t running down her face. She managed to wipe them off and concentrated back on her plans. Just then, the maid entered and brought a tray with tea cups and a tea kettle. “Here’s your tea miss,” She said as she brought it to Madison. “Will there be anything else?” “No thank you. I’m fine.” She said she looked at her with a smile. After a little bow, the maid left and closed the door behind. Madison poured some tea in one of the cups and dranked it softly.
Later that night, Kasey was awake as he couldn’t sleep. He was staring at the bright lights of the city from the room window. “It feels like years,” He said in his mind. “Sense I’ve came to this place and have made excellent friends with Sakura, Madison, Kero, Tori, Julian, Li, and everyone. It feels like- it’s been ages. I honestly couldn’t ask for anything better or more.” Then, he turned his head to the right as he watched Felicia sleeping on the bed. He gave a little grin as he also said in his mind, “But then there’s my sis. I could never forget the times she and I have been together. It too feels like a long, long time.” The rest of the night had flown on normally.
On the next morning, both Kasey and Felicia were dressed and on their way to town. “We’ve gotta make sure to get her something she’ll really like understand?” Felicia said to Kasey. He nodded in response as they pressed on. When they made it to town, they went from store to store. They weren’t able to find anything that interest them much to Felicia’s disappointment. “We’re never going to find her anything good.” She moaned. Kasey meanwhile was looking at the window of a certain toy store and happened to caught a glimpse of something. “Hey Felicia! Come over here! I think I’ve found something!” As she walked to his direction, she too looked through the window and had a bright glow shining on her face. “Oh my goodness!! This is it! This is it! We need to buy this! Let’s go get it! Let’s go get it!!!” She kept pulling Kasey’s left arm, trying to force him into the store. He chuckled loudly as he followed her inside.
The thing they happened to see was an old, antique doll. She has long, wavy blonde hair, was wearing a cute little hat, wore a beautiful garment, and wore tiny shoes. Felicia fell in love with it and knew that it was the right kind of gift for Sakura. Looking at the price tag however changed the moment as it cost nearly $60. Luckily for Kasey however, he had that kind of cash in his wallet and spent it all for the doll. Feeling proud of what they bought, both Kasey and Felicia walked out of the store and made their way to Sakura’s house. As they were leaving town, Kasey’s cell phone suddenly rung.
“Hello?” He said as he put the phone up to his ear. It was Madison, who was talking on the other line. “Hey Kasey, there’s been a change in plans. Sakura’s been home the whole time and we really need her out of the house as we get ready. Could you please ask her if she can go out with you for a while?” Surprised by the change of plans, he didn’t have much to say but agreed. “Okay then, we’ll meet you outside.” After hanging up, he managed to catch up to Felicia and discussed the change of plans. She didn’t have much to react to but understood. “As long as we get to give her our gift, I’ll be a okay!” She then giggled as a smile of cuteness filed her face. Kasey sighed with relief as he patted her head and smiled. He then turned his head to the right as he stared at the long distance. “Well, we better get going then.” He said.
A little while later, both Kasey and Felicia finally arrived at the Avalon’s house. Standing outside was Sakura, who was wearing a beautiful spring dress and was wearing a straw-made hat on her head. When Felicia and Kasey made it, she smiled brightly and bid them a sweet greeting. But upon seeing Kasey, she blushed a tad as she looked down at the ground. He smiled as he chuckled. “Please to meet you too Sakura,” He said as he continued chuckling. “Happy Birthday by the way.” Sakura gasped as she turned to face him. “Um..thank you Kasey.” She respond quietly. Felicia went on in and both Kasey and Sakura stood still quietly for a moment. “Well, shall we get going?” Kasey asked as he showed his hand to her. Poor Sakura was just flustered with redness as she slowly and carefully took her hand to his and touched it gently. Holding both hands, they walked away as Madison watched from the window. Kero was also watching who was sitting on her left shoulder.
Both Kasey and Sakura were walking along the downtown streets. As they were walking, Sakura looked up at Kasey’s face as she smiled sweetly. “Kasey? May I ask you something?” He turned to look down at her and respond, “Sure. What’s up?” She started getting curious as to why he took her away from home. Not wanting to spoil the big surprise, Kasey didn’t have much of a choice put to lie. To respond without hinting anything stupid he explained that all he wanted to do was just spend a little private time with her before returning home. Sakura smiled as she thought it was a sweet and generous jester. “Thank you very much Kasey. You’re the sweetest person ever.” And after saying that, she embraced him with a little hug which surprised him entirely.
Their adventure started out by visiting the town’s entertainment pier. Sense they didn’t have any money to spend, they decided to just go walking. They took a short cut through the amusement rides, then through the carnival, and finally to the viewing dock where people can see the water from underneath and straight ahead. They admired the view of the ocean for hours. “This is so beautiful,” Sakura said as both her hands were touching the sides of her face. “You and I should do this more often.” Kasey couldn’t help but agree. “But think of what it would be like without Madison, Kero, and everyone else. It would be pretty difficult to pass.” She turned to face him and giggled. “Oh Kasey! You’re so funny sometimes!” He couldn’t help but agree with her.
After admiring the ocean view for a while more, they decided to leave the pier and head straight to downtown. “Why do we want to visit here?” Kasey asked with confusion. “Because I feel like walking around here,” She said as she skipped a little. “Besides, where else could we go?” Kasey had a few good ideas for places to visit, but none of them were suitable for an evening like this. He decided to go with it anyway- just because for Sakura’s birthday. They explored around town for a little while more until the sun started setting down. Looking at his wrist watch, Kasey was shocked as he realized what time it was. “We better get going back to your house.” He said as he got up from the bench. Sakura looked at him with worry. “But why?” She asked. This time, there was no way to defend the secret. Instead, he quickly grabbed her wrist, got her up, and just said, “Let’s just go.”
They quickly walked all the way back from town to the neighborhood. As they arrived back, Sakura pulled herself away from his grasp at which Kasey turned with worry. A look of concern filled her face as she breathed heavily. “Okay Kasey. I had enough of this. Please tell me what you’re hiding. Please.” He didn’t have anything to say as he continued looking concerned. This was enough to make Sakura almost go nuts. Having enough, she passed by him and approached the door as she went to touch the knob. In slow mo, Kasey turned as a look of fright filled his face as he said, “No!” Before long, she twist the knob and swung the door opened for at which the lights in the main room were quickly turned on and confide started falling above as everyone in the room shouted, “Happy Birthday Sakura!!!”
Sakura’s eyes were wide with shock. They continued staying this way for a while more until the bottom of the eyes was wet with tears. She quickly wiped them off as a smile of pureness filled her face. She rushed in and gave everyone a big, major hug. Kasey eventually came in with a look of worry, but upon staring at Sakura’s face his look changed. She then quickly ran to him and jumped on him as she gave him a very large hug. During the rest of the night, the biggest birthday Sakura ever had continued as she opened all her presents, blew her cake, and spent the whole evening with her family and close friends- sharing one of the greatest moments in her lifetime.

As the day turned to evening, Kasey and Felicia were in the hotel room. Kasey was finishing his supper while Felicia was watching TV on the bed. After washing his dishes, he made his way to the bed. Instead of getting on it he just stood there. This worried Felicia a little. “Kasey, what’s wrong?” She asked. He managed to snap back and decided to finally tell her about tomorrow. “Sakura’s birthday is tomorrow,” He said as he sat on the edge of the bed. “Madison’s been planning a huge get together party for her and she invited me and you to come. So, would you like to go?” Felicia’s face clearly showed how she felt. She was both happy and surprised. “Sure I’ll go! Sakura’s like my best friend ever and I’ll do anything for her! We have to go shopping first thing in the morning though okay?” With a little chuckle, he agreed.
Meanwhile, over at Madison’s place, Madison was in her room planning for tomorrow. As she was going over her plans, she suddenly came to a stop as she too was remembering the times she and Sakura met Kasey and how much they spent time together. The memories were clearer than ever and she couldn’t help but smile. “It has been a long time,” She said to herself quietly. “Been a long time sense we’ve became the best of friends. I just hope the memories will stay together for as long as we all shall live. I’m-sure of it.” Both of her eyes suddenly formed to tears but they weren’t running down her face. She managed to wipe them off and concentrated back on her plans. Just then, the maid entered and brought a tray with tea cups and a tea kettle. “Here’s your tea miss,” She said as she brought it to Madison. “Will there be anything else?” “No thank you. I’m fine.” She said she looked at her with a smile. After a little bow, the maid left and closed the door behind. Madison poured some tea in one of the cups and dranked it softly.
Later that night, Kasey was awake as he couldn’t sleep. He was staring at the bright lights of the city from the room window. “It feels like years,” He said in his mind. “Sense I’ve came to this place and have made excellent friends with Sakura, Madison, Kero, Tori, Julian, Li, and everyone. It feels like- it’s been ages. I honestly couldn’t ask for anything better or more.” Then, he turned his head to the right as he watched Felicia sleeping on the bed. He gave a little grin as he also said in his mind, “But then there’s my sis. I could never forget the times she and I have been together. It too feels like a long, long time.” The rest of the night had flown on normally.
On the next morning, both Kasey and Felicia were dressed and on their way to town. “We’ve gotta make sure to get her something she’ll really like understand?” Felicia said to Kasey. He nodded in response as they pressed on. When they made it to town, they went from store to store. They weren’t able to find anything that interest them much to Felicia’s disappointment. “We’re never going to find her anything good.” She moaned. Kasey meanwhile was looking at the window of a certain toy store and happened to caught a glimpse of something. “Hey Felicia! Come over here! I think I’ve found something!” As she walked to his direction, she too looked through the window and had a bright glow shining on her face. “Oh my goodness!! This is it! This is it! We need to buy this! Let’s go get it! Let’s go get it!!!” She kept pulling Kasey’s left arm, trying to force him into the store. He chuckled loudly as he followed her inside.
The thing they happened to see was an old, antique doll. She has long, wavy blonde hair, was wearing a cute little hat, wore a beautiful garment, and wore tiny shoes. Felicia fell in love with it and knew that it was the right kind of gift for Sakura. Looking at the price tag however changed the moment as it cost nearly $60. Luckily for Kasey however, he had that kind of cash in his wallet and spent it all for the doll. Feeling proud of what they bought, both Kasey and Felicia walked out of the store and made their way to Sakura’s house. As they were leaving town, Kasey’s cell phone suddenly rung.
“Hello?” He said as he put the phone up to his ear. It was Madison, who was talking on the other line. “Hey Kasey, there’s been a change in plans. Sakura’s been home the whole time and we really need her out of the house as we get ready. Could you please ask her if she can go out with you for a while?” Surprised by the change of plans, he didn’t have much to say but agreed. “Okay then, we’ll meet you outside.” After hanging up, he managed to catch up to Felicia and discussed the change of plans. She didn’t have much to react to but understood. “As long as we get to give her our gift, I’ll be a okay!” She then giggled as a smile of cuteness filed her face. Kasey sighed with relief as he patted her head and smiled. He then turned his head to the right as he stared at the long distance. “Well, we better get going then.” He said.
A little while later, both Kasey and Felicia finally arrived at the Avalon’s house. Standing outside was Sakura, who was wearing a beautiful spring dress and was wearing a straw-made hat on her head. When Felicia and Kasey made it, she smiled brightly and bid them a sweet greeting. But upon seeing Kasey, she blushed a tad as she looked down at the ground. He smiled as he chuckled. “Please to meet you too Sakura,” He said as he continued chuckling. “Happy Birthday by the way.” Sakura gasped as she turned to face him. “Um..thank you Kasey.” She respond quietly. Felicia went on in and both Kasey and Sakura stood still quietly for a moment. “Well, shall we get going?” Kasey asked as he showed his hand to her. Poor Sakura was just flustered with redness as she slowly and carefully took her hand to his and touched it gently. Holding both hands, they walked away as Madison watched from the window. Kero was also watching who was sitting on her left shoulder.
Both Kasey and Sakura were walking along the downtown streets. As they were walking, Sakura looked up at Kasey’s face as she smiled sweetly. “Kasey? May I ask you something?” He turned to look down at her and respond, “Sure. What’s up?” She started getting curious as to why he took her away from home. Not wanting to spoil the big surprise, Kasey didn’t have much of a choice put to lie. To respond without hinting anything stupid he explained that all he wanted to do was just spend a little private time with her before returning home. Sakura smiled as she thought it was a sweet and generous jester. “Thank you very much Kasey. You’re the sweetest person ever.” And after saying that, she embraced him with a little hug which surprised him entirely.
Their adventure started out by visiting the town’s entertainment pier. Sense they didn’t have any money to spend, they decided to just go walking. They took a short cut through the amusement rides, then through the carnival, and finally to the viewing dock where people can see the water from underneath and straight ahead. They admired the view of the ocean for hours. “This is so beautiful,” Sakura said as both her hands were touching the sides of her face. “You and I should do this more often.” Kasey couldn’t help but agree. “But think of what it would be like without Madison, Kero, and everyone else. It would be pretty difficult to pass.” She turned to face him and giggled. “Oh Kasey! You’re so funny sometimes!” He couldn’t help but agree with her.
After admiring the ocean view for a while more, they decided to leave the pier and head straight to downtown. “Why do we want to visit here?” Kasey asked with confusion. “Because I feel like walking around here,” She said as she skipped a little. “Besides, where else could we go?” Kasey had a few good ideas for places to visit, but none of them were suitable for an evening like this. He decided to go with it anyway- just because for Sakura’s birthday. They explored around town for a little while more until the sun started setting down. Looking at his wrist watch, Kasey was shocked as he realized what time it was. “We better get going back to your house.” He said as he got up from the bench. Sakura looked at him with worry. “But why?” She asked. This time, there was no way to defend the secret. Instead, he quickly grabbed her wrist, got her up, and just said, “Let’s just go.”
They quickly walked all the way back from town to the neighborhood. As they arrived back, Sakura pulled herself away from his grasp at which Kasey turned with worry. A look of concern filled her face as she breathed heavily. “Okay Kasey. I had enough of this. Please tell me what you’re hiding. Please.” He didn’t have anything to say as he continued looking concerned. This was enough to make Sakura almost go nuts. Having enough, she passed by him and approached the door as she went to touch the knob. In slow mo, Kasey turned as a look of fright filled his face as he said, “No!” Before long, she twist the knob and swung the door opened for at which the lights in the main room were quickly turned on and confide started falling above as everyone in the room shouted, “Happy Birthday Sakura!!!”
Sakura’s eyes were wide with shock. They continued staying this way for a while more until the bottom of the eyes was wet with tears. She quickly wiped them off as a smile of pureness filled her face. She rushed in and gave everyone a big, major hug. Kasey eventually came in with a look of worry, but upon staring at Sakura’s face his look changed. She then quickly ran to him and jumped on him as she gave him a very large hug. During the rest of the night, the biggest birthday Sakura ever had continued as she opened all her presents, blew her cake, and spent the whole evening with her family and close friends- sharing one of the greatest moments in her lifetime.
