Actually, I'd probably offer to do research instead. XD

I think I'd get so into the whole "woo. Look at me, all savin' lives and kicking ass" that it would take till my first broken jaw before it occurred to me, hey, there's a reason I'm not a vigilante crime fighter in real life. The danger side, especially with Buffy there, I'd be game for if it was to save people. There's a risk I'd end up over thinking (the whole moral side of killing something with capacity for feeling and human intellect, especially knowing of the rare cases of some of them turning good) and in between hits be going to the vamp 'but are you sure you don't want to talk this out? I mean, the killing people thing? Don't look at me like that, have you even tried the blood from the butchers? What if we set up some kind of vampire rehab? Well, if you're going to try to eat me while I'm just being helpful, then fine you can just get staked Mr stubborn-pants'.
Between my very sub-Buffy fighting skills and that, I have a feeling there'd be a limit to how long Buffy could tolerate my 'help' on a patrol, lol.
