it was a tough choice between this 2 and 5! i choose this one thoguh because she had to grow up and understand more about life and men in this season!

NikaDawson picked Season 7:
I think Buffy finally came into who she was in season seven. She grew up, and she accepted every single aspect of herself, and the slayer as an innate part of her which she was always trying to deny. She also had confronted her darker nature and accepted it by season seven, so that she was grounded. But I also liked her in season five. Before that she kind of annoyed me.

NikaDawson picked Season 7:
Oh, I picked the wrong one. Changing it. And in season four I don't think it was best for her. Buffy could have grown a lot in season four, but she didn't really. She was still seeing things in black and white and hadn't learned the gray sides of life yet, like she had in season seven.

She could have learned a lot from the Intiative, that what they were doing was wrong. That demons aren't always evil, and that it's not right to torture someone or take away their ability to feed themselves or defend themselves.

But she didn't. She still saw all humans as inherently good, and refused to see that humans can be just as evil and flawed as demons. She only admitted the Intiative was a bad thing when they tried to kill her, but not what they were doing to creatures that weren't human. No matter what you are, it's not right to torture someone.

i didnt say season 4 was the best, but season 7 i didnt feel there was enough there i think shed been through everything else so there was no real developing going on, which is what i like to see in a season how the characters change! season 5 is a very big one but im sticking to 4! lol!

Yeah it was nice to see her happy, because her relationship with Angel never made her happy. I do think season four was probably the only time Buffy was truly happy. Before that it was one trial after another for her, and after that it was as well.

It was something she was lacking from season two and three that she had in season one before Angel, happiness. I found it very interesting though that the happiest she seemed to be in season four were when she and Spike were under that spell in Something Blue.

That showed me what the relationship could have been, how they could be together. Even when they loved each other they were still fighting. And I think it brought out Spike's feeling for Buffy. Willow only said they need to get married, not that they needed to love eachother. A lot of people don't love each other who are married, it's more of a business deal, so it's interesting that they did. Makes me think she had buried feelings for him to in season four, but that just might be the Spuffy girl in me, lol.

scififan picked Season 7:
Hey, hey, hey!! There were happy moments in her relationship with Angel and sad moments...just like in real life. It wasn't exactly Angel or Buffy's fault that the Judge rose on her 17th Bday...and that must have been a pretty happy time, cuz you know, soulless. Then again, I'm sure the time with Angelus was just torture, and sending Angel to hell would have been a trip too. But what about those moments in season 2 when they're making out in a grave yard, or the scene where he's outisde her room in the tree and the smooching...she looked pretty happy then :) Where's Joker at? He alwayss helps me out in these Banel debates :)

I liked season 7 becuase Buffy really seemed to become the honest to goodness Slayer. In highschool she was very worried about the balance between slayage, school, and social life...ok more slayage and social life. In season 7, she completly embraced everything the slayer was. She understood that to be the slayer meant being alone, making tough decisions, and was sometimes down right painful. She seemed to be at her peek of power as well. The Spuffy thing going on in the last seasons drove me insane...as SMG said :

DreamWatch: Do you think Buffy loves Spike or is it just good sex?
SMG : "I think its 20-something really good sex! I think Buffy was greatly in love with Angel. It will always be Angel. Nothing in her life will ever compare to that. Then she fell in love with Riley. She went from the dark, brooding guy to the good guy, the guy who would protect her, and it didn?t work. She let him down, essentially. So what's the next logical step? The bad guy! She?s supposed to be with the bad guy.
What she?s learning is, there are no rules and that you can be in a relationship with someone, even though they?re not your true love or the one you?re meant to end up with.

"I ran into the producer's office screaming 'Buffy would never do this, with all her history with Angel! It's wrong!"

Thanks to tish for the quotes

Sorry, been on holiday!!

tish/scififan - Thankyou so much for that, I always knew SMG agreed with me!!

This probably isn't the best season for Buffy, having to kill Angel and all, but it's the season I like her the most in. She's funnier, cuter...and she goes through so much. Bangel I'm sure have plenty of happy moments, they just don't make as good TV!! It's much better to see the Buffster get put through the wringer. There are all those graveyard smoochies in Bad Eggs though and the moment in Where's My Line where she kisses kim even though he's vamped out.

I liked that she no longer had this huge burdon over her. She finally got to be a normal person after all of those years which is something I always felt she wanted and also kind of needed as she had lost so much time in her life, especially around her teens.
