Yes. I think they as much as come right out and say it at the end of "Chosen".

I am a big spuffy fan and i think Buffy really did love spike, but at the end of season 7, Buffy says i love you and Spike replys no you dont but thanks for saying it. This is what drove me to ask this question.

i thought that she did love him but at the final scene of buffy when she said i love u and he told her no you don't but thnks.....i thought that she's gonna say something 2 reply ...but she didn't..she let him dye knowing that she don't..it's good bcz she' wouldn't lie 2 him at his last seconds......but i realy wonder...why didn't he go to her when he came back in angel?!

It might of been because he thought she didnt love him, he might of though that going to see her would drive them bck to how it was before (season 6)

Ok, this pick it is very fustrating question. So here is my thoughts about Season 7..

When the moments of rape and getting a soul for the girl he loves. Spike suddenly comes back to Sunnydale with a shocking discovery. Buffy was realizing that Spike is bck with a soul and wants forgiviness so badly it kills him to see from Buffy. But all the fans feels that Buffy hates and feels for him all the way.

But the there were two gang members that knows something between Buffy & Spike and that was "Reliable" the big word in Season 7. Both Willow & Giles knows that Spike relys on Buffy and same way Buffy relys on him. As you may notice Buffy is always there for Spike when he is hurt and Buffy would be there when Spike had thoses wounds when he is back and the first torments.

And the ground breaking epsiodes that expresses both Buffy & Spike's feelings and that was Touched & End of Days, Spike gaving his wonderful speech about You're the One Buffy.... I don't wanna be the one...

That episode gave it all meaning about Love with Buffy & Spike. In this season was about Connections all the way. Also when that kiss came along with Angel Buffy told Angel that she does love Spike and he is in her heart, The end of the season Buffy finally gave her confession to Spike about her loving him.

The Spuffy relationship was so complicated compared to the other relationships on the show. I do think a lot of season 7 was Spike realising Buffy didnt (or couldnt cause lets face it she was in no state to be in a relationship at the time) love him. While they did share something (Look when she asks him to stay with her after she was kicked out of her home) they both knew that they could never be together (See "Chosen"). While Spike most definitly loved Buffy she never truley loved him, she used and abused him throughout season 6 when her mental health was in a horrrible state part of which was to do with Spike. Spike was new and forbidden and that excitment she needed after being dragged from heaven. Season 7 was all about strength. Strength she took from the love Spike felt for her and the strength it took her to not ruin herself and her friendships by being with Spike...Damn I did not mean to rant
