Of course I was still rooting for them, but I have to admit not as much as I would have been. This probably wasn't a problem for people who viewed it on TV, but seeing it all at once I was still kinda pissed on Buffy's behalf. If they had to have that scene I wish it had been earlier in the season so I had a chance to get completely back on the character's sides before the end.
What bugged me more than them kicking her out was the fact that they didn't even seem slightly worried about her after she left. Caleb had gone after her once already, she could have been dead for all they knew and not one of them seemed concerned about her. That was the first time I ever disliked the scoobies.
When Dawn told her to get out I wish she had said 'No, this is my house, if you don't want to share a house with me why don't you leave?'
And I agree with Candrani that if they felt this plot was necessary it should have happened earlier in the season to give people time to stop being mad at them, coz I was stil kinda mad at them by the end too.
But empty places really annoyed me. This may sound way over dramatic but it ruined the show's finale for me. I watched the end all in one go too and I was so angry at the scoobies I couldn't enjoy any of the time they were on screen.
All the good moments they had were tainted by me thinking how cruel and ungrateful they had been, especially like candrani said the fact they weren't at all woried about Buffy while she was gone.
The second Buffy came back they should have all apologised, but they didn't. Like I said I know it sounds melodramatic but it stopped me liking all of them and that really spoiled the end of the show for me.
I agree that if they had to do that it should have been earlier so we had a chance to stop being angry at the scoobies.
i agree with jilly about empty places a little, i could see where they were coming from, but dawn and kennedy....UGH! my fists were twitching, wanting something to hit! and willow, and giles....they should've at least discussed it more instead of yelling at her!
however the last time, everyone seem to just want someone to blame and as per usual poor buffy had to take it
Dead man's party was to understand because indeed, Buffy (no matter how good her reasons were) left them all in uncertainty... She could've called or something to at least let them know she was still alive... They loved her so much and she left them all worried, afraid and puzzled... Man, I'd be pissed too...
That they were 'angry' she didn't tell Angel was back was also to understand because of what happened when the poor bloke lost his soul.. I'd be very afraid too... And it was also understandable they thought Buffy didn't know what the hell she was doing because she'd always loved Angel very much... It is a normal train of thought... No matter how nasty it was for Buffy... I think it was kinda justified...
And Empty Places... Yes, indeed Buffy had saved them from a awful lot, but sooner or later that fact is gonna stop working... It was nasty how they didn't give her a chance to improve her ways, but she was indeed swallowed up in herself a little too much... It was true she had to make the hard decisions on her own and it was true she had a hard time dealing, but they were also kinda right when they stated Buffy didn't care that much... However good her reasons are, the fact is that she didn't even know most of the Potentials by name!
Think of it... You being a potential... all of a sudden you're haunted by things to awful to think of... You're very confused and scared... Than you come somewhere strange where you don't know anything or anyone... And there is this girl, who you've been told will save your ass... But... she don't even seems to really listen to the things you're saying... She's also not around a lot, and you're going to have doubts.. Thinking/fearing you'd end up dead no matter what..
And there comes this other girl... Who might not be the brightest or might not be the one to save you, but at least she's with you, seems to care more for you personally (at least enough to know your name)... This girl is a slayer as well, you don't know her more than that but consider it strange how the one slayer seems to be "above" the other.. It is no wonder they chose in their desperation and need for a personal touch Faith as their leader... However sorry I am for Buffy... It was understandable
And Like I said what bothered me most of all was that while she was gone and could've been hurt for all they knew none of them were worried about her.
Though it still annoyed me I could forgive the potentials but the scoobies had no excuse as far as I'm concerned.
Of course I was still rooting for them, but I have to admit not as much as I would have been.
