We saw them fight in the episode but it was cut short by them switching back, so we never got to find out the winner.

I guess it depends on wether you think Buffy is the better slayer because she is physically stronger or because of her instincts.

I'm torn, I bet I keep changing my answer, lol. At the moment I'm going with Faith because in the fight in the episode she seemed to have the upper hand....but I do think Buffy's instincts and emotions are an important reason she is such a good slayer. Seriously, every time i choose I talk myself into picking the other option ;)

I'm finding I have the same problem candrani, I can't decided which aspect makes Buffy such a good slayer. If it's her instincts and knowledge or her physical strength ???
Right now I'm leaning towards mental strength and instincts, but that could change! lol

Yeah because the slayer power comes from the same ancient source, so I think they would have the same physical strength. Unless their natural human strength is added in as well, in which case definitely Faith seems stronger than petite little Sarah Michelle Gellar.

And mentally, I think Buffy is stronger with regards to slaying--she trains and studies slaying more, Giles taught her a lot, and she has her natural quickness of mind.

I think Faith because since Buffy trains more I think her body is physically stronger, so Faith in her body would have more stregnth and Also Faith is more agressive.

Buffy would be looking for a way to end the fight without killing Faith (and definetly without killing her body before she could get it back) but Faith in the mental state she was in in that episode would be fine with letting her body and Buffy die.

I think that extra added aggresion plus the willingness to kill and a slightly stronger body would definetly mean Faith won

Thats a very good point Bellona, I can't see that Faith would really care if she killed Buffy and her own body. This could influence the fight quite a lot!

IN THIS EPISODE, Faith is really angry and I think it makes her stronger... But in general,I think Buffy would win.
