i thought it was funny when cordy would flirt with him at the bronze lol and of course since i love them on angel everything would've screwed up if they were a couple on buffy.

the brilliant thing about cangel is how they started it's great to look back on their friendship and their entire relationship as far as i'm concerned buffy already does contain a lot of cangel (that's right bangel fans i went there :P). It was all set up even before joss himself knew it

I agree I love the way their relationship developed and if it had been forced or rushed into on BtVS it would just have been wrong and would in no way have worked!

I aree. I love Cangel, but the point of them having such a deep meaning was because how far their friendship grew. They were just aquaintances at Sunnydale and then workmates at LA which soon turned into Family, and Friends, it grew at the right pace, and made them special that way.

Agreed debs, I love that Cangel really didn't happen till ATS but there is so much foreshadowing of it in BTVS, like Spuffy really.

Neither one of them were ready for the other while on Buffy. Angel was still getting used to becoming a hero and Cordy was still in her shallow phase. I love the fact that their feelings for each other grew slowly and out of friendship and trust. It's like no one saw it coming, not even the writers, but once it got there, it was so obvious that they should be together. Everything they went through on Buffy and the earlier seasons of Angel led them to the moment where they realized their love for one another. It's why even though they were technically never together, they are one of my favorite tv couples of all time.

i would have loved to see what buffy did to cordy and Angel, lol

I hated Cangel, it was so lame and random!

and it was definitly not lame, i can't find my long comment i wrote a while back on them, but if anyone in the whedon world are soul mates it's them two, bangel never had the same understanding they had

BTVS was not all about Bangel. Bangel was barely in three seasons together, there were four seasons it ran after that and agreed with debs.

and that's if you class season 1 as about bangel ;)

1. Cordy was still too much of her shallow original self at the time.

2. Angel was only in BTVS for 3 seasons, and during that time he was all about Buffy. It'd have been too quick for Cangel to also happen in that time.

I'd be a little curious about seeing Buffy's reaction though.
