Persoanlly I believe Buffy would kick Angel's arse because Angel doesn't want to win against her. As Angel, not Angelus, he believes that he has to make up for his previous actions and if Buffy, whom he sees as a pillar of virtue and light, decides he has to be put down then I believe he would also believe it. Angel fights, in my mind, because that is what he must do, but he just wants to be able to rest (here I site Amends, somewhat on Suprise and his quotes about immoratality).

She's the Slayer. I love Angel, but he doesn't have a chance.
BUT a BIG But if she was against Angelus, that's a whole other story.

And just to add, she didn't beat Angelus.
Angel came back before he could get back his strength and have a good brawl.
