hmmm good question, it generally depends through out the seasons

but buffy and willow seem to be so much closer than xander is to either of them once they hit college and then with willow entering buffy's sub concious and willow and buffy sharing the whole super power thing i dunno they just seem so much closer

plus ignoring the supernatural stuff the girls have just bonded better once of my fave moments is when willow tells buffy she's going to sunnydale college with her and she jumps on her, it's so sweet and cute and a very real moment

oh another brill moment is when buffy gives willow her strength to heal in "same time, same place" makes me well up everytime

there friendship may be my favorite of all of them, besides anya and giles :)

Me, I think Buffy was closer to Xander. Because he understands her more than anyone. He understood Buffy's relationships with Riley,Spike and Angel. There were a lot of great epsiodes showing that in Season 5,6,and 7.

Even though, I do understand Xander was being very honest and he was right about everything on Buffy. He was telling Buffy about her tru feelings about Riley in the end of Into The Woods.

I have to say season 7 was the best for them both. Most of the epsiodes of Xander & Buffy were great. Buffy was even more closer to Xander... Buffy was loving Xander more than Friend ..I mean if there were changes that there was a couple like Xander & Buffy man I total support them in heartbeat... But I stick with Spuffy LOL

i don't think until season 7 xander got buffy at all, especially not the angel/riley/spike thing

yeah his speech is really sweet over riley but that was what xander wanted so he could keep his buddy, he never considered buffy's feelings and he certainly didn't understand angel or spike

I can't say Willow and Xander either because it was clear they had grown apart as the seasons went on, yellow crayon speech aside. I don't think they ever really got past the awkwardness of their affair in season three.

it was hard to choose between xander/willow and willow/buffy.
Willow and xander grew up together so they know eachother pretty well.
But when buffy and willow became friends, willow would converse with buffy more than xander and told her things before she told xander, half the time xander had no idea what willow was going through.
It seemed to me that xander and willow grew apart as the season went on and as buffy and willow grew closer, xander and willow grew frthewr apart.
And i mean Willow was literally inside buffy's head in the episode same time, same place and i think that made them connect even more, and when buffy broke down after willow helped her. it was emotional.

Xander was the only one who could bring Willow back from destroying the earth - something Buffy couldn't do. They loved each other in a similar, if not stronger, way that Buffy and Dawn loved each other.

Because they know each other since they were born. But Willow and Buffy are very close and it's the same for Xander and Buffy.
It's a magic trio. Love them!!!

buffy has said she has cut herself from everyone including her friends in touched while xander saved the world from dark willow so yeah the yellow crayon.
