Buffy the Vampire Slayer Article: From BANGEL to SPUFFY

As some of you may have noticed, I always support Bangel instead of Spuffy.I mean I thought that Angel was the best lover for Buffy and not Spike.I watched all the BTVS episodes hundreds of times and nothing could make me change my mind.Until one week ago.
I decided to watch Angel.I didn't do it before because I was mad he left Sunnydale.I have watched only the first season but I liked it very much.
The most important thing is that I made up my mind.I saw how perfect the friendship between Angel and Cordelia is and as I was informed by a friend of mine they will make a very good couple.
After some episodes in Angel, Buffy went to LA.I was excited when I saw her.I thought; "OMG!They can be together even for an episode.That is super!".But later I realised that they just don't fit as much as I thought before.
So from a Bangel fan I turned to a Spuffy fan.I know it is weird but it is the truth.

Please tell me your opinion.
Do you think that Angel and Cordy are good together or Buffy was better for him?

ArabellaElfie Shannon, Welcome! We have flowering onions here. I'm a Spuffy and Cangel shipper who also understands and supports to an extent Bangel. Personally I've always felt that while Buffy and Angel do, in a way, love eachother it's based on a need for the other one to fill a specific role. Angel needs Buffy because he needs salvation and Buffy needs a way to bridge her two worlds. Angel and Cordy is based on a long term friendship, they fall in love with eachother not because of what the other person represents but in spite of it. They fall for one another because of who they are. Buffy and Spike is similar to me. Spike doesn't seem Buffy as salvation but falls in love with her fire and passion. Spike loves the kind of woman Buffy is and because of his love for her he finds his salvation. It's not that he wants salvation, it's that for her he finds it. Buffy in turn can be all that she is with him. There is no holding back, there is no need to pretend to be perfect and the picture of all that is right in the world. Buffy is Buffy and Spike is Spike and that's the way it is and the way it should be. So, you're watching Angel....I'm going to be expecting you at the Angel Awards young lady.

blogfettish SPUFFY all the way (Y). Good work. I never thought I would see someone covert. I did love bangel in the first few seasons. However, I "lovED" them, PAST tense. And I don't want to ruin any future angel scenes, but KEEP WATCHING! Awesome plot twists coming your way :) Yay Joss.

adwbuffy Well done, Shannon... I love your thoughts about being supportive with Bangel. But everybody does know that I am a huge Spuffy fan Support. But don't get me wrong after watching Season 1-3 (rewatching Buffy the Vampire Slayer) I realize Bangel love is very deep, passionate, intense see in my opinion Spike & Angel relationship with Buffy are very the same. Oh well everyone has there opinions on BuffyVerse. But Angel & Cordelia's relationship as friends comes to "Love." Cordelia cares for Angel the same he does for her. I also had notice after the many rewatches that Buffy cares for both Vampires like helping them when they are hurt always there Spike when he has wounds from "The First" & Angel has wounds from other battles. Like Buffy gives all her care for both vampires

blogfettish yeah, she does care for them, which is good because I sometimes get the feeling that Buffy gets let off easy because we love her so much and because she is the slayer and has it "tough". But we never realise how hard Xander, or Dawn, or Spike or Angel have it. Like, Spike got the crap kicked out of him (figuratively) by every ONE of the scoobies for almost raping Buffy, but that whole time she had basically been leading him on and using him. I mean, how harsh were some of her comments to him, like in "Fool for love", when she says "you're beneath me", right after Spike had layed out his feelings and had told her about how he was rejected with that very line. Or once they've had sex and she basically puts it out there and says I DON'T LOVE YOU I'M JUST USING YOU. Although at the same time I guess Spike does also cheat on Buffy with Anya. But Xander is hurting too, and Buffy takes it all out on Spike even though she had said to Spike they had nothing, she still made it seem like the only person it was hurting was her. I think she can be a bit selfish at times. I still feel for all the characters though :) even the evil ones. /end of rant

SpikeVamp I have never been much of a bangel fan. I don't really have any issue with it but i prefer spuffy. Spuffy was just more interesting and more exciting to me.(plus Spike is my favorite character ever)Actually Spuffy was my favorite couple in the buffyverse until I watched angel and I saw Cordelia and Angel. In some ways i find it more beautiful seeing the gradually relationship grow between them. In any show i have always thought it was more romantic when a couple was just friends at first and then fall in love with each other.
