Buck stood on top of a high cliff over looking the (surface) land. He could see in the distance the shadows of great mountains, he could see snow-covered fields and plains as well. In front of him out-streatched a pine tree forest. (Which was, of course, covered in snow.)
"It's a big world out there," He told himself thoughtfully.
He smiled.
"And I belong someplace in it. And today, I will find that place," He promised himself. But where do I begin? He thought.
Suddenly, he felt a warm breath on the back of his neck. His smile faded as he turned around to see a saber-tooth tiger staring at him through hungry eyes. In a flash, the gaint cat grabbed Buck's tail and hung him upside-down in front of it's face.
This saber-tooth tiger in particular had been hunting down Buck to eat for weeks.
"You're not weaseling out of this one weasel!" The saber growled.
Buck gave a weak smile.
"Funny," He said.
"`Cause that's wot I tend to do best,"
And with that, Buck squirmed out of the saber's grasp and ran in the opposite direction.
The tiger was hot on his heels as Buck skidded to a hault on the icey ground. Two sabers were in front of him! There was a whole pack! He reliezed.
As they stalked closer toward him, the ground beneath Buck's feet began to crack.
"You're life ends here, weasel," The first saber said.
Suddenly, the ice gave way and Buck fell through the hole.
Scared, the tigers ran away. One asking,
"What about the weasel?" As they ran.
"Who cares?" The other inquired.
"He's probabley dead anyway,"
Buck did not know how long he had layed there, but when he did wake up, he woke up to sunlight streaming forth from the hole that he had fallen through.
As he slowly got up, he took in his new surroundings:
Plants.
Real, alive, exotic plants. There was no snow on the ground, wherever he was, it was nothing like the world that he had left behind.
What was that? Running water?
He approached the edge of, yet another cliff and peered out over a whole new world.
Waterfalls (not frozen) rained down from cliff's and splashed into streams below. Lush green, exotic plants surrounded the area. The ground was not covered in snow and it was warm.
Buck smiled.
"This is where I belong," He told himself.
CRACK!
One step closer to the edge too far, the ground under Buck's feet crumbled, taking Buck down with it.
As Buck fell down into the jungle, he slammed against trees and knocked his head on a few rocks, until he finally got his foot caught in a low-hanging vine about a yard or two from the ground.
Discouraged, he tried swinging himself back and forth, hoping to get enough momentum to free himself; no luck.
He tried squirming.
Wiggleing his foot to get loose.
Arching his back.
Eventually, he just hung there with his arms crossed.
When evening came, Buck heard a rustling noise coming from the bushes surrounding the clearing.
"Hello?" He called out.
No answer, just more rustling.
At first, he believed that it had just been the wind, but then however, out pounced a raptor.
He owned razor-sharp teeth and was glaring up at Buck.
Then another one appeared, and then another.
There was five or six total hovering below him as he hung there from the vine.
A couple of the raptors jumped up at him with open jaws trying to rip him from the vine's hold.
At last, one succeeded by snapping the vine. Buck fell to the ground with a smack. Thankfully not hurt, as he glanced up to see a raptor lunge at him.
He dodged and (not yet knowing how to survive in this world) ran.
He sped through spiderwebs, vines, and weeds. He was a good eight feet ahead of them.
At the end of the trail he stopped. It was a dead end, another cliff!
He backed up a little bit, then took a firm grip onto a near-by vine and fearlessly jumped off the cliff.
He sailed through the air to safety by landing on another piece of land. He glanced over at the raptors on the other side of the hallow and smirked, only to turn around and see another pack of raptors. As they ran after him, he ducked underneath a jutting out piece of cliff, holding onto a spare tree branch with bright red berries growing on it. He held on for dear life from the snapping raptor's jaws.
Accidently knocking down one of the red berries, he noticed that halfway down it exploded, sort of like a bomb. He eagerly grabbed the berries and threw them at the first three raptors. Knocking them out cold.
"HA HA!" He exclaimed as he jumped onto the ledge and threw the rest of the bombs at the others.
Later that day, Buck now wore a vine with a ring of berry-bombs on them for protection.
"I like it down here," Buck said to himself.
"It's full of adventure and I'm starting to get the hang of it too,"
As Buck marched out of the jungle, he heard a loud roar of authority.
Cautiously, he peered out from behind a palm tree and saw a T-rex pounding through the forest.
Seeing this, Buck strutted out into the middle of path wondering how he was going to slay this one.
Then, a sickening, death sentence roar came from behind him. This roar was like thunder and probley shook both worlds.
Buck feared nothing, so instead of running, he slowly turned around to see a dinosuar much larger, but simalarly built to the T-rex.
Buck, meanwhile, slipped behind a rock to watch the brutal scene.
The T-rex tried to flee from the beast's teeth and claws but the beast was too fast for him as he flung the T-rex into the wall.
The monster then bared it's fangs and tore into the T-rex's skin. In a few moments, the T-rex was his dinner.
After he ate, the monster of a dinosuar stomped away, crying out his signature roar.
When he had gone, Buck stood in the middle of the trail inside one of the monster's out-streatching, large footprints.
Buck gazed off in the distance watching the great figure vanish from his view.
Buck could not believe his eyes! (Soon to be one.) Something that would challenge a T-rex!! But who would challenge this beast?
Buck stood up straight.
"I will," He thought outloud.
What fearful name should this creature be given though? He thought.
Slowly, as if wanting to hear it from himself, Buck whispered one word.
"Rudy,"
"It's a big world out there," He told himself thoughtfully.
He smiled.
