Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Terry is stopped by another cop for being black 

Just because the Nine-Nine has been saved from closing (R.I.P., Seven-Four) doesn’t mean that there aren’t serious topics swirling around the precinct. Tomorrow’s episode of Fox comedy 

digs deep into the controversial issue of racial profiling via stop-and-frisk.

Searching for his daughter’s lost blanket in his neighborhood, Terry (Terry Crews) is stopped by a police officer (played by

‘s Desmond Harrington) for the color of his skin.  Terry tries to break bread with the officer in hopes of working it out, cop to cop. When that doesn’t go well, he considers filing an official complaint, but Captain Holt (Andre Braugher) may see the matter a little differently.

“To a certain extent, it’s the question of: Am I blue or am I black?”

executive producer Dan Goor told EW. Goor also notes that the show has been hoping to explore the issue for a while, but “because our heroes are the police, it’s difficult to talk about the police in an abstract way. We’ve talked about a million different stories and I think this one really works. It felt very natural and real, but at the same time, we’ve managed to make it as funny as any other
