Books to Read Question

Book Suggestions?

I know this is about the number one question that gets asked here - but it's so great to have opinions. Not to mention I'm awful at choosing new books to read right off the shelf.

Here are some examples of books I have already enjoyed:

Fiction:
Harry Potter (probably one of my favorite stories of all time)
The Hobbit (I will be reading the rest of LOTR, already have them)
Fools Crow (Historical fiction about Native Americans - I love this book so much)
I also like Jane Austen, but haven't read all of her works
Overall, I haven't read much fiction since I was a child, but I'd love to find a good fiction novel to read!

Autobiographies:
Bob Newhart's
Jack Klugman's
Peter Falk's
Tina Fey's Bossypants (most recent and favorite)
As you can see I enjoy autobiographies of funny people, so if you've read a good one let me know!

So, pass on your advice! I'll take suggestions on any good books you've read so I can do further research. I'm 21 years old - just to help with age range.
Thanks so much!

I know everyone's going crazy about it now, which makes it a bit offputting, but I would definitely recommend the Hunger Games series, it's fantastic. If you've read and like Austen, I would suggest reading more :) I'm assuming you've read Pride and Prejudice, but Persuasion and Emma are both quite good, as well.

L M Montgomery has a lot of really great books that are kind of similar thematically to Austen's, though they're set in late Victorian Canada, not Regency Britain. I would recommend Anne of the Island, or Rilla of Ingleside, which is my all-time favourite book.

Two funny autobiographies/memoir type books I've read and enjoyed:
Mindy Kaling - Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?
Sloane Crosley - I was Told There'd Be Cake

You might also like Alexander McCall Smith, though he has a particular writing style that not everyone enjoys.

Hope this helps :)

Oh, and if you like funny books in general, there's an awesome series by Lousie Rennison - the Georgia Nicholson series. First book is Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging. They're YA, but hysterical. I couldn't read them in public because I was laughing so hard while reading them most of the time.
