i dont think it matters that much as long as it makes sense plot wise

There's not really a definite limit. James Patterson, for example, writes really short chapters, maybe 80 or so in a book? Other authors might have more like 13 or something, but I think around 20-25 is average. Word count matters more than the number of chapters, though. Split up your work where it makes sense.
