Books to Read Question

Does anyone have a good book that they would recommend?

I've read Twilight, the Vampire Diaries, Harry Potter countless amounts of times but I just want something a bit different... Don't get me wrong, all these books are good (some excellent!) but I just want to read a book that's different. At the moment every vampire book I pick up seems to be the same. Any suggestions are welcome, thanks :)

Do you want a supernatural-specific recommendation? Or would anything do?

I don't really know much of the supernatural books because I tired of the genre a long time ago. I especially never liked the mainstream fantasy/supernatural Y/A books. They place more importance on drawing in a large Y/A readership than telling the story, in my opinion. So I don't really have any recommendations there.

I personally like China Mieville, although he is a bit of a complex read. Other than his books, there's Terry Pratchett's Discworld series, or Neil Gaiman's stuff. They're all pretty good. But more importantly different. Especially Meiville's stuff. He writes under a genre called Weird Fiction. And it's a good weird.

I am rather fond of the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini right now.

Also the Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series by Michael Scott. (The Alchemyst, The Magician, The Sorceress, The Necromancer, The Warlock).

The Postman by David Brin. (Post-Apocalyptic World)

The Disc world Series- Terry Pratchett. Of all the books my favorites are the four Tiffany Aching books, and The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents. I love this Author because he has a kind of dry sense of humor.

Too many Curses-A Lee Martinez- Fun,Very easy and in my opinion wonderful, though my friends declared it bad without even reading it, I think its good.

The legends of Ethshar series-Lawrence Watt-Evens
A great series my personal favorite being Ithanilins restoration.

The Percy Jackson Series- Rick Riordan. Very easy to read. Popular and absolutely wonderful!

The 39 clues-Many Authors Again very easy. Wild Adventures, very fun.

Click- Ten different Authors. I red it for book club and I liked it. Its kind of odd but good.

Zen and the art of faking it
Drums girls and Dangerous pie
Notes from the midnight driver
After Ever After-------Jordan Sonnenblick, These books are great and hysterical at times. I put them in the order i think you should read them. The order the happen in. You can read Zen and the art of Faking it whenever. But the other three involve characters from each other so if you read them in them in a different order you get spoilers.

Notes from a Liar and her Dog- Gennifer Choldenko. Its by the same Author as the Al Capone dose my shirts and Al Capone shines my shoes books. I like this book better than those though. Its really fun but there's some stuff in there thats just completely amazing.

The Reformed Vampire Support Group-Catherine Jinks
Its a great take on Vampires if your bored of the really hot teenagers with cool powers view. I love It!

The Fairy's Return(collection)- Gail Carson Levin. make sure you get the big red and gold book, Its a collection of her shorter stories including The Fairy's return. They named the collection book that probably because that was the most famous of the stories. They're Fresh versions of Fairy tales

Ella Enchanted
Fairest
The two princesses Bamarre.-Gail Carson Levin. They're fresh versions of Fairy tales that i love more than the originals.

The Host- Stephine Myer. I don't usually like this author but the host if fairly good.

The Chronicles of Vladimir Todd- Heather Brewer. It's a different Vampire story than Twilight if you like Vampire. I don't like them that much but i love this series.

The Chronicles of Narnia- C.S Lewis. Old but still amazing.

Anne of Green Gables Series-Lucy Maud Montgomery. I like the classics. Anne gets in too a lot of trouble originally which is fun to read, but its kind of interesting watching her mature, then get in more trouble!

Hunger games trilogy- Suzanne Collins Really great, I think the last book was a bit homicidal and didn't like the ending. But Its a good series with good writing.

I know i forgot some but this is all I could think of at the moment.
