I was in the same boat as you when I first started watching BNHA- I could not STAND Bakugou, because at first he seemed like nothing but a selfish, heartless jerk... but I’ve always been open to the possibility of him getting better character development later on, and slowly but surely, that has definitely happened! I warmed up to him the most in season 3, as that’s when he gets the best character development he’s had so far(in the anime anyway, I dunno about the manga cuz I haven’t read it) We learn a bit more about him and his motivations, and we see him start to become close friends with Kirishima... and through that friendship we learn that underneath the many, MANY layers of anger is a guy who cares a lot about his best friend ^u^ Ep. 50 also gives us some insight into his home life and why he may have turned out the way he did- his mom is, uhhh... not my idea of a likeable character ^^; I started to sympathize with him a bit more after that ep, but ep. 61... oh man, ep. 61 is the episode that made me LOVE Bakugou! We really get a good look inside the poor guy’s head- his feelings of inferiority, the intense amount of guilt he’s been harboring over All Might, it all comes out here and I was hit with the FEELS! And at the end, his relationship with Izuku, while not completely mended by any means, is definitely on its way there, and I thought it was a pretty satisfying ending overall :) There are many more analyses out there that are a hundred times more coherent than mine, but that’s basically why I like Bakugou- while he still has a LOT to work on, I’m proud of how far he’s come since season 1, and I actually consider him to be one of my favorite characters now ^u^ He’s a really interesting and complex character, and I hope you enjoy watching him grow as much as I have! :)
