What's a good idea for a board game to make?

Here are some attributes that are desirable in a board game:

* solo play: can be played by 1 - 6 players (that one player option is very important and popular)
* variety: has enough random elements in it that it plays differently each time
* clear and player-directed winning conditions: any game should have a clear way of the player achieving victory to win. Monopoly is the prime example of how NOT to do this: you win by everyone else failing, rather than by any direct action you take.
